Results of the first real-world evaluation of use of NfL in a MS center clinic! What did we show? - Clinical decisions changed in 19.3% of cases post-disclosure, particularly in context “new symptoms” and in patients with higher sNfL levels. - In case of low sNfL levels: certainty in the clinical decision increased, while expectation of MRI activity decreased. - Motivation to measure NfL was highest in context “differential diagnosis”; perceived value and urgency were highest in context “new symptoms”. - There was a strong interest to get the result within less than one-two days after the clinical visit. The last finding is in my opinion an important support for implementation of NfL tests with quick turnaround times!
