Recognising and respecting the enduring significance of First Nations cultures is vital. Despite acknowledging that First Nations culture is the oldest continuous culture in the world, there's a misconception that traditional cultural protocols no longer exist. This couldn't be further from the truth. Traditional cultural protocols are very much alive and foundational within First Nations communities. Ignoring these protocols means disregarding a rich cultural heritage. To build meaningful relationships with First Nations communities, we must not only acknowledge these practices but actively integrate and honour them in our interactions and organisational frameworks.
