"Going forward, our transformation will no longer define us as a chemical company, but as a science company," declared our CEO, Mr. Vincent Liu. We are proud to announce at our recent media gathering that LCY is transforming into a “Science Company”, unveiling a fresh brand identity. We believe in our purpose “Catalyzing Innovation,” and dedicated to delivering customized solutions to our clients through three strategic pillars: Performance Semiconductor & Interconnect, Sustainable Technology, and Polymers & Materials. By becoming a science-driven company, we aim to explore new scientific applications, unlock additional business opportunities, and achieve our goal of having 20% of our product portfolio classified as sustainable by 2030. In line with this, our recycled electronic-grade isopropyl alcohol (Re-EIPA) project has been recognized by leading global semiconductor manufacturers for helping reduce waste and emissions. By adopting purified Re-EIPA, semiconductor companies are projected to reduce their carbon emissions by 20%, a significant improvement compared to traditional methods like incineration. In pursuit of the vision as a science-driven company, we are expanding our product application into the nutritional supplements sector, integrating science with health. The upcoming LCY carotenoid product line utilizes a natural fermentation process that replicates the molecular structure of naturally occurring ingredients, enhancing bioavailability and antioxidant efficacy. Furthermore, its carbon footprint is substantially lower than comparable products on the market. This transformation underscores our dedication to leveraging science and innovation to shape a more sustainable future for both our business and the environment. We are excited about the journey ahead and the positive impact we can make together. Research shows: The #pharmaindustry #pollutes 55% more than the automotive industry! “While the spotlight on emissions reduction has been mostly focused on industrial sectors, such as mining, energy and automotive industries, the carbon footprint of [...] the pharmaceutical sector, have received little to no attention. We cannot afford to ignore them anymore! 1. **High #Environmental Impact:** The pharmaceutical industry, which is dedicated to improving health, paradoxically contributes significantly to environmental degradation. The industry's higher emission intensity highlights the #urgentneed for it to adopt more sustainable practices to #reduce its #carbonfootprint. 2. **Manufacturing Emissions:** A significant portion of these emissions occurs during the #manufacturing of drugs. Lots of waste is generated and the use of hazardous chemicals contribute heavily to the industry's overall carbon footprint. 3. **Regulatory and Social Pressure:** With increasing awareness of #climatechange, industries face growing pressure from regulators, investors, and consumers to minimize their environmental impact. The pharmaceutical sector must respond by implementing #greener practices throughout its #supplychain. 4. **Public Health Concerns:** Environmental pollution has direct and indirect impacts on #publichealth. As a sector dedicated to health, the pharmaceutical industry has a #responsibility to minimize its environmental impact to prevent exacerbating health issues related to pollution and climate change. This research serves as a crucial reminder that sustainability is a shared responsibility. As professionals, stakeholders, and consumers, we must advocate for and drive the pharmaceutical industry towards a more sustainable future. Green chemistry offers innovative solutions to reduce the industry’s emissions. By designing manufacturing processes that minimize waste, reduce energy consumption, and use environmentally benign substances, the pharmaceutical industry can significantly lower its carbon footprint. Implementing green chemistry principles can lead to cleaner production methods, safer products, and a healthier environment. #Sustainability #PharmaceuticalIndustry #ClimateChange #GreenInnovation #EnvironmentalImpact #PublicHealth #GreenChemistry #CarbonFootprint #GreenChemistry Let's use this information to spark meaningful conversations and drive positive change in our industry! https://lnkd.in/dbCc64zi

??We have published a new scientific paper on our website! ??Efficient Depolymerization of Poly(ethylene 2,5-furanoate) Using Polyester Hydrolases ?“Poly(ethylene 2,5-furanoate) (PEF) is considered to be the next-generation green polyester and is hailed as a rising star among novel plastics. It is biobased, is nontoxic, and has comparable or improved properties compared to polyethylene terephthalate (PET). Biobased PEF offers lower life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions than PET. However, with its industrial production starting soon, relatively little is known about its actual recyclability” ?Read the full document here: https://lnkd.in/dPYkZhUa #upcycling #foodandbeverage #packaging #valuechain #recycling #polimers #circulareconomy Aalborg University Forschungszentrum Jülich acib GmbH DTU - Technical University of Denmark Lund University TECNARO GmbH Bio-Mi Sustainable Solutions Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant??Leibniz Institute for Natural Product Research and Infection Biology - Hans Kn?ll Institute AIMPLAS · Technological Institute of Plastics University College Dublin #Bioplastech Sustainable Innovations (SIE) RWTH Aachen University Vestforbr?nding Susana XARá European Health and Digital Executive Agency (HaDEA) VIRENDER KUMAR, Alessandro Pellis Cristiano Varrone (万思诺)
