Each year,?Code.org, the Computer Science Teachers Association and the Expanding Computing Education Pathways Alliance release a State of Computer Science Education report. The report?provides an update on national and state-level computer science education policy, student access and participation data, and insights for providing equitable student access to computer science education. 2024 Kentucky highlights include: 76% of Kentucky public high schools offer foundational computer science courses compared to 60% nationally. Percentage of Kentucky public high schools offering foundational computer science courses has increased from 45% to 76% in the past four years. 11.5% of Kentucky high school students enroll in computer science courses compared to 4% nationally, putting Kentucky 6th nationally in participation by student population. ? AdvanceKentucky works alongside these organizations to make computer science education available for all Kentucky students by helping school districts deploy computer science plans and preparing teachers to teach computer science.
