?? Celebrating America Recycles Day: Recycling Powers Economic Growth! ?? Did you know recycling isn’t just great for the environment—it’s a powerful driver for #EconomicDevelopment, too? Today, we’re celebrating how recycling fuels industries, creates thousands of jobs in manufacturing and processing, and boosts local economies. An @EPA study found recycling and reuse activities in the U.S. accounted for 681,000 jobs and $37.8 billion in wages, plus every 1,000 tons of material recycled supports 1.17 jobs. By turning waste into resources, recycling helps reduce manufacturing costs, conserve energy, and build resilient, innovative communities. Many #ruralKS areas have little access to recycling opportunities. The remote nature of western Kansas, transportation, and storage challenges are often cited as concerns to the expansion of recycling. However, several innovative and emerging technologies and processes are showing promising advances for the recycling industry. More efficient use of existing resources, enhanced tracking, sorting, and cleaning, and developing collaborative approaches to expanding recycling opportunities are seeing positive results in proprietary and pilot programs. When we recycle, we invest in a circular economy that attracts industries and empowers our workforce. Happy #AmericaRecyclesDay!

Today is #GlobalRecyclingDay In this post: my 1 minute opinion on #recycling Recycling is an important temporary solution today. This proces does not solve the cause of #plasticwaste, but at least it extends the lifespan of plastic and prevents it from being incinerated (synonym: burned). I believe that #reusing products made of plastic is a better choice economically and ecologically. It is necessary to row with the oars we have, so thank you to all recycling partners who are #savingplastic from landfills. #Collaborating?with all stakeholders making and using a product will be the next way of doing business. Recycling rates in England have hit a plateau. Tinkering with labels on packaging may help slightly, but will not catalyse the dramatic shift needed. What is needed is a radical rethink of our take-make-dispose society. The only true way to reduce the amount of residual waste created per person is to migrate to a circular economy sustained by a new industrial revolution based on remanufacturing.
