?? SCAM ALERT ?? To all job applicants who are desperately looking for a job, please be mindful of whom you are sharing your information with. Your resume includes your full name, address, phone number, and email address—the key information a scammer needs. You might think, what can they do with this information? With technological advancements, it is alarming how easily scammers can misuse your details. Recently, a friend of mine received a call that seemed to be from his mother, asking for money to be sent to a specific GPay number. Suspicious, he called his sister to verify and realized his mother never made that call. In another incident, a connection of mine received a message from a supposed LinkedIn recruiter asking for her resume. Once she sent it, the recruiter blocked her. Since then, she has been inundated with spam messages, many of them phishing attempts disguised as job opportunities. Before you share any information with a recruiter, ensure the person is legitimate. Verify if they work for the company they claim to represent and check if that company even exists. Stay vigilant and protect your personal information to avoid falling victim to scams. Stay safe and smart in your job search. #JobScams #JobSearch #JobHunting #JobSafety #ScamAlert #ResumeSafety #CareerAdvice #JobSeekers #ProtectYourself #JobSecurity #Recruitment #StaySafe #CareerTips #JobAwareness #IdentityProtection

???Beware of Recruitment Scams - My Recent Experience! ?? Job hunting is stressful enough without worrying about scammers. Unfortunately, I recently had a close call with a sophisticated recruitment scam that served as a stern warning. The scammers posed as an employee for a legitimate company recruiting for a major bank. Everything seemed authentic - it was a registered business, employees with professional LinkedIn profiles, and they were discussing an open role advertised. The email even came from?'name'@'therecruitmentcompanyname'.net. However, looking back, there were red flags I missed and additional checks I could have made. As time passed with no interview invite, my suspicions grew. Upon digging deeper, I uncovered it was an elaborate identity fraud scheme targeting job seekers. The bank confirmed receiving reports about this very scam, where personal details get exploited from job site profiles. I'm thankful I caught it early before any damage occurred. Yet, the experience left me unsettled and feeling a little foolish. Scammers are becoming increasingly sophisticated, preying on those eagerly seeking opportunities. It was a wake-up call on the need for vigilance. To protect yourself, remember: 1.?Never share sensitive personal information early in the application process. A location is sufficient for CV/cover letters. 2. Verify recruiters' credentials through official channels, not just their website or LinkedIn. 3. Be very wary of unsolicited job offers, especially for roles you didn't apply for. 4. If something seems amiss, trust your instincts and disengage immediately. My close call highlights how crucial it is to stay alert and protect your personal information when job hunting. Let's spread awareness to prevent these scams together. I hope sharing my experience helps others avoid falling victim. #RecruitmentScams #JobScams #ScamAlert #CyberSecurity #JobScamAlert #RecruitmentScamWarning #EmploymentFraudAlert #IdentityTheftScam #JobHuntSafety #CyberSecurity #ScammerTactics #ProtectYourIdentity #JobSeekerAwareness #RecruitmentSafety #AvoidScams #ScamPreventionTips #IdentityProtectionAdvice #EmploymentScamTrends #StaySafeJobHunting #IDFraudPrevention #JobScamRedFlags

???????????? ???? ???????????????? ??????????: ???? ???????????? ?????????????????? I recently had a close call with a phishing scam that targeted job seekers, and I wanted to share my experience to raise awareness and help others avoid falling victim. Last week, I received an email about a job opportunity. Following my usual routine, I conducted research on the company and confirmed its legitimacy. After answering some questions, I received the surprising news the next day that I was hired. Despite feeling uneasy about the rushed and unusual process, I rationalized it by convincing myself that perhaps the company had an urgent need for the position. After all, the person I was communicating with presented themselves as a Senior Vice President on LinkedIn, adding an air of legitimacy to the situation. What initially seemed like a promising opportunity quickly unraveled when I was informed that a check would be sent to cover the expenses of setting up a mini home office. The list of office equipment grew my suspicions. Sensing something was amiss, I decided to delve deeper. A quick online search revealed similar experiences shared by others who had encountered the same scam. These individuals were instructed to purchase office equipment from a specific vendor with the promise of reimbursement—a promise that was never fulfilled. Armed with this knowledge, I approached the scammer with questions about the project, only to be met with silence. My encounter serves as a reminder that job seekers must remain vigilant, especially in today's challenging job market. Scammers prey on the desperation of those seeking employment, and it's essential to recognize the warning signs and trust our instincts. Let's stay informed, stay cautious. #PhishingScams #JobSeekers #ScamAwareness #IdentityTheft

Attention LinkedIn network: I want to share a crucial alert about a sophisticated phishing scam targeting job seekers, this time through job interviews conducted over the Signal messaging app. In this elaborate scheme, the interviewer will engage you with a series of questions, building a false sense of trust. Eventually, they'll make a bold move to ask for your banking information under the guise of job processing requirements. I came dangerously close to falling for this scam myself but drew the line at disclosing my banking details. It's a stark reminder to always verify the authenticity of job offers and the integrity of the interview process, particularly when approached through less traditional communication methods. Let's stay informed and safeguard our personal information against such deceitful tactics. #CyberSecurityAwareness #JobHuntingSafety #ProtectYourInfo #DigitalSafety #OnlineScams #SecureJobSearch #FraudAlert #InformationSecurity #ScamPrevention #SignalAppScam

Today, those of us looking for jobs are especially vulnerable to scams and fraud that take advantage of the needs of many professionals. Scammers and phishing tactics have evolved to make these fraudulent offers appear legitimate, promising jobs with excellent benefits, urgent openings, and suspiciously fast hiring processes. It’s important to remember a few key points to protect ourselves: Research the company: Before sharing any information, verify that the company exists and that its profile on networks or job platforms is real. Look up its official website and check if they have a formal hiring process. Avoid sharing sensitive personal information: Legitimate employers won’t ask for bank account numbers or confidential personal data in the early stages of the hiring process. Be wary of money requests: Reputable companies will never require payment to access a job opportunity. If an offer asks for an initial payment for materials, training, or permits, it’s likely a scam. Check communication quality: Fraudulent offers often have grammar and style errors. Additionally, companies typically use corporate email addresses, not personal or free accounts. Confirm through other channels: If you receive an unexpected offer or message, try reaching out to the company through a different channel (their official page or LinkedIn) to verify the legitimacy of the offer. Protecting ourselves from scammers is essential to ensure a safe and reliable job search. Let’s safeguard our information and prioritize security at every step of the process! #JobSearchSafety #PhishingProtection #JobHuntTips #StaySafeOnline #EmploymentScams #SecureJobSearch #DigitalSafety

Happy Wednesday LinkedIn, I had an entirely different post in mind for today, but wanted to continue raising awareness about the growing problem of scammers in the recruitment process. Here are three tips I’ve learned for recruitment messages to stay safe: 1.) ?? E-mail domains not matching the company domain: I’ve had numerous e-mails come my way where the domain had an extra keyword, like “jobs” or “hiring” in it. Be wary of these, as people will buy domains of this form explicitly to pretend to be part of the company. WHOAMI records are available for all domains, check if they were recently registered. Also check the official company website to see where correspondence should come from. If you suspect someone is impersonating a company, reach out to them. Some companies have since explicitly put notices on their site to warn about prominent phishing/scamming attempts. 2.)??Lightning fast turnaround is typically a red flag. If you’re receiving an offer within a few days, especially without any interviews, this can be a sign of a scam. If you get the gut feeling of “if I was hiring, I would’ve done…” chances are the company would have as well. 3.) ?? Do not accept or use checks for “remote office setup” as this is a common scam at the moment. Attackers will attempt to send a check under the notion that it will be used to set up an office or pay for equipment. The vector of attack is to get would-be applicants to purchase equipment from a specific retailer. The check will ultimately bounce, drawing funds from the victim’s account to cover the charges. ?? The good news: LinkedIn is a massive resource for applicants and companies alike to help each other out. I have a project in the works I hope to be a resource for saving people time, money, and heart break along their employment journeys. If you have any other recommendations or found this helpful, please leave a comment or message me!
