Twee - is this an example of how an AI Wrapper can work for the classroom? Twee, an AI-powered tool specifically for ESL teachers. But it raises that question again: Are AI wrappers the way to go, or do frontier models offer more flexibility? ?? AI Wrappers (like Twee):? ?? Task-specific and user-friendly? ?? Aligned with established frameworks (e.g., CEFR)? ?? Ideal for teachers new to AI Frontier Models (raw LLMs):? ?? Highly customizable and flexible? ?? Allows for fine-tuning and iteration? ?? Suitable for experienced AI users I personally have had a great deal of mileage out of Twee in the short time I’ve used it.? Relatively new to ESL teaching, I’ve found it great for extending the material I had and adapting both content and tasks to be more targeted and engaging. I’m confident and reasonably competent at using a raw LLM - Claude AI is my go to for most tasks - but most staff I’ve worked with are nowhere near this and aren’t likely to be anytime soon. If a tool can increase variety, engagement and quality of the learning whilst at the same time streamlining a teacher’s workflow and relieving some of the stress of lesson prep then I’m all for this. However, don’t leave it there - AI’s potential is much more than a magic resource machine. Get experimenting and see what potential benefits AI can truly leverage. The use of technology has become an important part of the learning process in and out of the class. Every language class usually uses some form of technology. Technology has been used to both help and improve language learning. Technology enables teachers to adapt classroom activities, thus enhancing the language learning process. Technology continues to grow in importance as a tool to help teachers facilitate language learning for their learners. This study focuses on the role of using new technologies in learning English as a second/foreign language. It discussed different attitudes which support English language learners to increase their learning skills through using technologies. In this paper, the researcher defined the term technology and technology integration, explained the use of technology in language classroom, reviewed previous studies on using technologies in improving language learning skills, and stated certain recommendations for the better use of these technologies, which assist learners in improving their learning skills.
