This includes taking a holistic approach that ensures that all aspects, from early detection and assessment to response, are effectively addressed. Robust communication strategies to ensure that warning messages are timely, clear, accessible, and broadcasted via multiple channels in order reach as many people as possible are essential for effective risk governance. The AWARE solution will allow civil protection authorities to increase the number of channels available to them to disseminate warning messages, which will promote informed decision-making and serve to reduce vulnerabilities by enabling timely evacuations and promoting community empowerment.
