Employees are the new influencers. And no, I’m not just talking about employees posting on LinkedIn for a few likes. I’m talking about those stepping in front of the camera, becoming the face of the brand, and actively building a reputation while connecting with their audience. Here are a few brands already nailing Employee Generated Content (EGC): ?? SheerLuxe SheerLuxe doesn’t just promote products—they empower their employees to become true brand ambassadors. Their TikTok takes you behind the scenes, showcasing the vibrant workplace, celebrating the team, and attracting top talent with authenticity. ?? ASOS Insiders (A personal fave ! ?? ) ASOS takes EGC to another level with their ASOS Insiders programme. These employees, chosen for their distinctive style and fashion sense, aren’t just promoting products—they’re building community, fostering loyalty, and making ASOS a part of everyday fashion conversations. ?? The Perfume Shop The Perfume Shop goes beyond promotions by including frontline staff in their TikToks. Last year, an employee’s catchphrase went viral—an unexpected win! Hearing directly from in-store employees creates a more relatable connection than a corporate ad ever could. What are your thoughts on Employee Generated Content? Which brands do you think are leading the way? Let me know in the comments
I briefly worked on a program like this (as the brand’s strategy partner, not an employee of the brand) and I’m torn tbh. With this particular brand, some of the employees were already making work-inspired content which performed well (and is also why they were chosen) but once that brand filter was officially layered onto their content, the red tape said ‘Oh, heeeeey that’s *too* real for us.’ Interesting in theory, can work in practice. I remain torn. Also, I miss the days when I would go into the ASOS offices here in NYC and get to take clothes. ??
As a full time creator all I can think is I hope they’re being paid like influencers on top of their working salary for their likeness! If I’m honest - it’s seems like it can get exploitative real fast ????
Completely agree - Remmie by Riley in Aus do this SO well too!
Employee generated content is the new trend right now and I love it - another way for brands to produce unfiltered content for their audience in a creative way
Lola Mustapha We've been saying this for a while, your audiences want authenticity and there's no one better than the office influencers! (Especially on platforms like TikTok) ??
The employees at Coach do a really good job at this too! It's a great opportunity to showcase products (obvi), company culture, and in-store experiences. EGC could also benefit the beginning of long-lasting relationships between customers and Sales Associates ??
Sooo here for EGC! Traditional B2B businesses need to get on board because they tend to focus on building personal relationships and that’s what EGC can do!! ??
Agree! ???? Plus ASOS were definitely first to the game with their stylist accounts yeeeeears ago. Loved asos_megan and asos_freddie's accounts back in the day ??
I believe Employee Generated Content is the thing right now. But importantly, the brands need to empower them to make the most of it.

5 个月Here for EGC?? EGC is the kind of content that makes your company look good to outsiders and then maybe become one of the top places to work. Does it help in terms of sales though? Is it affecting the numbers at ASOS Lola Mustapha ?
