I used to think business networking events were all the same… ?? You know the vibe: ?? Endless bragging about connections ?? Everyone trying to one-up each other But today? Something changed. This morning, my teammate Roger dragged me out of my comfort zone (and my house) to attend a networking event. Trust me, I was going to be an hour tops!!! ?? Then I walked into Tech Bloc’s event… ?? Wow. Just wow. ?? The energy? Electric ? The people? Smart, authentic, unbelievably talented ?? The speakers? Straight-up inspiring ??? It wasn’t just a networking event—it was a masterclass in building community and celebrating innovation ecosystem. ?? Let me say it loud: Tech Bloc knows how to throw a party (and a killer business event). ?? This is officially my new favorite organization. ?? Ileana Gonzalez is ok too??♂? Seriously, Ileana is a freaking rockstar and driving this organization in a phenomenal direction!!! Wasted efforts, until I learned better... In my early years of launching businesses, I attended as many events as I could, met as many people as I could, and collected business cards (full drawers of those, like a library!). I soon realised it was a scattergun approach, not effective at building meaningful connections or leveraging my network. I was driving without a satnav and hoping to get 'somewhere'.
