Eye floaters can be described as spots in your vision and may drift about when you move your eyes. In extreme cases, these floaters can block parts of your vision. The image taken below on the Cylite HP-OCT shows floaters casting shadows over the retina. Demonstrating the flexibility of Cylite's Hyperparallel OCT and true volumetric scanning, this image was taken using the anterior scan mode. Utilising 11mm of scan depth to capture these floaters sitting suspended in the anterior vitreous, they almost represent a far away galaxy. We've called this one the "Hyperparallel Nebula". Floaters can affect vision, casting a “shadow” over the retina. I'm pretty sure my "side of the drill" technique is not approved by the manufacturer or my OR, but ... I made it through training without having doen a lot of pelvic external fixators, so putting pins in the ilium was not familiar territory when I first began using Intellijoint Surgical Inc. navigation or other advanced technologies for total hips. Fortunately it got very routine after a few cases. My tips so far: - Stay at the top edge of the ilium where you would harvest tricortical graft. - A long handle on a #15 blade makes stab incisions easier here. - A little tap sets the threaded pin before allowing the drill to do the work - as opposed to a lot of downward force that could result in a pin plunging into the pelvis.
