Holistic pediatric healthcare involves an integrated approach that goes beyond treating symptoms. Pediatricians actively engage in comprehensive assessments, considering the physical, emotional, and social aspects of a child's well-being. Collaborating with families, they develop personalized care plans that incorporate nutrition, mental health, and developmental support. Recognizing the interconnectedness of these factors, pediatricians ensure that healthcare interventions contribute to the overall wellness and resilience of the child. Holistic approaches prioritize not only the treatment of illnesses but also the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, setting the foundation for a lifetime of well-being. #HolisticHealth #PediatricWellness #IntegratedCare #ChildhoodWellbeing #ComprehensiveHealth #HolisticPediatrics #WellnessJourney #FamilyHealth #HealthyLifestyle #ChildFirstCare #PediatricApproach #MindBodySoul #BalancedHealth #WholeChildCare #HealthAndHappiness

Obstetric fistula is a hole between the birth canal and bladder or rectum, caused by prolonged, obstructed labour without access to timely, high-quality medical treatment. It leaves women and girls leaking urine, faeces or both, and often leads to chronic medical problems, depression, social isolation and deepening poverty. Obstetric fistula is preventable. It can largely be avoided by delaying the age of the first pregnancy, the cessation of harmful traditional practices, timely access to obstetric care and trained professionals with midwifery skills at childbirth. Health systems can reduce fistula by tracking prevalence, correcting gaps in care and ensuring universal access to a competent health workforce.

Have you ever recommended that a #caregiver of a child with serious illness engage in self-care? ? I have.?But I have come to understand how complicated that recommendation really is. Self-care requires time, resources, energy, and more. Things that many caregivers do not have enough of. Some preferred “self-care” activities are so common among people that we can easily forget that self-care is highly personal. Maybe it is yoga. Or maybe it is listening to a favorite band, sleeping, or adjusting self-deprecating thoughts to those that are more helpful - or something else. Telling a caregiver that their child needs them to take care of themselves can place undo pressure on a caring, loving caregiver to do even more. As providers, we genuinely want caregivers to take care of, and do things for, themselves. Exploring, with genuine connection, curiosity, and creativity may elucidate something that they can actually do and actually could help. Learn more from Jeanette and Frank in this short Courageous Parents Network video about living with chronic caregiving stress. #caregivers #pediatrics #childhoodcancer #raredisease? #pedpc https://lnkd.in/e6mHQypA

What is this "Prosilience" you speak of Jenn?... proactive + resilience = Prosilience Resilience isn't something you have or don't have...we all have seeds of resilience within us that we can grow. The work I do is guiding people to their resilience baseline and then preparing to face challenges or adversity in the future with more confidence, calm and contentment. #patient?#patientlife?#chronicillness?#chronicdisease?#chronicdiseasemanagement?#lifethreateningchronicillness?#lifethreateningdisease?#transplant?#kidneytransplant?#kidneytransplantrecipient?#dialysis?#pediatricbraintumor?#pediatriccancer?#caregiver?#caregiversupport #challenges?#proactiveresilience #resilience #lifecoaching #resiliencecoach#bechallengeready?#challengeaccepted
