In recent years, there have been significant advancements in carbon capture and conversion technologies aimed at mitigating climate change and utilizing carbon dioxide (CO2) as a resource rather than a waste product. Recent advancements in carbon capture and conversion (CCC) technology focus on Bioenergy with Carbon Capture, Utilization, and Storage (BECCUS), circular CO2 utilization, and hybrid approaches. Challenges include improving capture efficiency, reducing costs, developing scalable conversion processes, and ensuring the environmental sustainability of CO2 utilization. Additionally, integration with existing infrastructure and policy frameworks poses implementation challenges. Despite these hurdles, ongoing research offers promising solutions for mitigating climate change and transitioning to a sustainable, low-carbon economy.
