There are plenty of companies looking for mainframe talent, so bring your updated resume, your IBM Z Xplore Concepts badge and an open mind. From what I have read and seen (and what I know as an Army Vet), GovTech is the hottest industry right now and the IRS will be there, looking for talent to fill their ranks. GovTech=job security, especially in these modern times. "But Kasema, what do I DO at a virtual career fair?" My only advice is to introduce yourself and take the chance on yourself. Research the roles available (for GovTech roles like the IRS, make sure you have a profile on USAJobs with your updated resume) and have a few questions for the recruiters that will be in attendance. Above all, take a deep breath, play your fave confidence boosting song and go for it! The IBM Z Career Fair 2024 will be held October 29th, 2024 12pm to 3 pm EST.
