You may have heard that the latest NAEP results show a continued decline in reading scores nationally. Fourth and eighth graders, on average, scored two points lower than in 2022 and five points lower than in 2019. These numbers confirm what educators already know—we are in a literacy crisis, and immediate action is needed. At IMSE, we understand that real results take time. Strong foundational literacy skills don’t appear overnight — they require evidence-based instruction, expert training, and ongoing support.
