I am happy to share the second publication from my PhD, now available in BMJ Open! https://lnkd.in/dcVxpvfB This is a protocol of a multicenter clinical prospective cohort study investigating the effects of arthroscopic Bankart repair on biomechanics and neuromuscular control in patients with traumatic anterior shoulder instability. The recruitment of patients is on-going and we cannot wait to see the results! ?? New Research on Neurofibromatosis-Related Complications! ?? I’m excited to share our recent publication in the Journal of Research in Orthopedic Science titled "Huge Intra-abdominal Meningocele in a Patient With Neurofibromatosis 1 With Previous Posterior Spinal Fusion and Instrumentation Due to Severe Scoliosis." This study explores a rare case of lumbar anterior meningocele in a patient with NF1, highlighting the importance of considering reduction of the meningocele when surgical intervention is required. Our findings contribute valuable insights into managing complex cases involving neurofibromatosis and prior spinal interventions. Three new papers just published in?KSSTA Journal?from the #CorinRegistry on personalized balance and alignment in?TKA!?Stay tuned for further updates on our next two papers in this series. This first paper investigates?how increasing the tibial resection boundaries in functionally aligned TKA?influences?femoral component orientation. Extending the tibial boundaries from 3° to 6° varus leads to a significantly higher percentage of femoral?components with combined valgus lateral distal femoral?angle <87° and >3° internal rotation, which has been?linked to higher revision rates in the long term. This is especially prevalent in?CPAK type I and II knees, where the?incidence?increased from 2% to 31% for CPAK type I.
