Yesterday, I attended "Energy Hubs: Scaling up Scotland’s Hydrogen Production." The discussions were insightful, highlighting Scotland's tremendous potential to become a leading producer and exporter of hydrogen and its derivatives, especially with the rapidly growing e-fuels market in Europe. The Energy Hubs Project is addressing key questions about establishing large-scale hydrogen production in Scotland. The focus on optimizing efficiency and economic viability of Scottish Energy hubs, along with exploring opportunities with alternative fuels, was particularly enlightening. What I find thrilling is the extraordinary overlap between these initiatives and the technology we are employing at Released Energy to develop renewable energy projects. It’s clear that achieving net zero will require ALL of our insights, innovation, and collective effort! Provaris Energy Ltd (ASX:PV1, OTC:GBBLF)?managing director and CEO Martin Carolan sits down with Proactive’s Jonathan Jackson to discuss a tri-party Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Norwegian Hydrogen AS and Uniper for the supply of #hydrogen to Germany. The MOU aims to develop #HydrogenSupplyChains from Norway and other Nordic locations to northwest Europe, focusing on #GreenHydrogen production by Norwegian Hydrogen, which will be transported using Provaris’ H2 Neo carriers and H2 Leo storage barges. Current efforts are concentrated on finalising a hydrogen sales and purchase agreement term sheet by December 2024 with a target of a 10-year contract. Provaris and Norwegian Hydrogen are identifying potential sites for RFNBO-compliant hydrogen production in the Nordics, including the FjordH2 Project in Norway. UTD’s hydrogen-related R&D efforts are focused on enabling broad deployment of hydrogen-blended gas, or using nearly 100% hydrogen, to reduce GHG emissions by proactively testing current products for suitability, developing new technologies suitable for pure hydrogen or high-hydrogen-fraction fuels, addressing safety concerns, and many other aspects. As interest and investment in hydrogen grows, our research will help enable a safe and economical transition to fueling a lower-carbon economy.
