"Bret what's the best platform to send mail from?" Well the obvious answer is - if you have a great operator they can likely get you delivered anywhere because they know what they're doing - but to my knowledge and I've met a bunch of people in this space... there's about 4 or 5 who know what they're doing... so... if you can't afford them or don't know them... I get it. Or if you're looking to gauage whether your guys is that good - i'll ask a simple question "Does he supply you with daily reports on your deliverability and response rates?" No? Well... then you aren't likely dealing with a boss in the space. However - if you have the best email operators or don't - you still want to give them the best tool. Want to get a notification whenever a company starts trialing your competitor? Here’s are 2 methods you can use to set that up: Quick disclaimer: this only works if the solution of your competitor needs to be installed on a website/subdomain ?? Method 1 - Set scraping your TAM’s technology installs on repeat Imagine you have a TAM of 100k accounts. To use this method, get the domains of all your target accounts into one location, then enrich them for technologies. Tools like BuiltWith have an option that shows you exactly when a new technology was seen for the first time, meaning you’ll know more or less when the account started trialing or using your competitor. Set the enrichment on repeat using a tool like N8N or have someone set up a custom script that runs every week/month. ?? Method 2 - Monitor for new subdomains This one works great for tools like ATS platforms. If your competitor is often installed on a subdomain (so ‘competitor.yourtarget.com’) for example, then use DNS tools to grab all the subdomains from a website. Next, run a keyword search for your competitor to see who has installed their tech. Now, simply repeat this process every x weeks to get a notification for competitor subdomains that pop up. And that’s it. Pretty straightforward once you get things set up. Who’s doing this?
