???Just the way broken crayons still colour… broken eyes can still see?? Blindness is a SPECTRUM. Please don’t assume if someone is blind it means they see absolutely nothing. Where I’m going with this is, please don’t be so quick to judge when you see someone with a cane or guide dog use a phone, take selfies, or make eye contact or read the menu or go to the movies. I live with a degenerative disability called Usher Syndrome that causes blindness and deafness and there is no cure. Having said that, even with just 3% sight (broken eyes) I still try and be as independent as I can. I get around with my cane and still use my sight to do things people don’t expect blind people to do like create original content like this post, YES! I created these graphics myself, and will continue to do so until I lose whatever little vision I have left, so stay tuned?? Image Description: The image has Karan standing in a shirt covered in colourful scribbles and is holding his cane upside down. The text says, just like broken crayons still colour, broken eyes can still see. Blindness is a spectrum. #Blind #Blindness #UsherSyndrome #RetinitisPigmentosa #Disability #DisabilityAdvocate #Vision #VisionLoss #DisabilityLife

#disneyprincesses line up - Jasmine, yes I know following the order it was supposed to be Belle, but give my ADHD brain a small break. I wanted to make her newer costume from the parks, it's modest, but it's pretty, I like how they made it work and still keep her overall personality. I don't like her movie looks, they are too clashing. #susanarodriguesart #princessjasmine #aladdin #disney #disneyfanart #fanart #characterdesign #characterstudy #digitaldrawing #drawing #disneyjasmine #disneyparks #fun #magic #aladdinjasmine

Respect is respect. Respect their boundaries as you want yours to be respected. Just because they are you her doesn’t give them less of a voice, less of an opinion, less of a feeling. If they don’t want to hug you don’t touch them. Let them initiate contact. If they’re not comfortable making eye contact who cares. If the clothes don’t fit how they want or the texture bothers them, find the ones that don’t. Accommodating isn’t going to harm you. You know what will be harmful? Not making simple adjustments that can change the whole trajectory of someone’s minutes, hours, days, weeks, years and life. This is not that complicated.

Growing up in the 70’s / 80’s, in a time before autism awareness, was rough. Back to the old house. The Smiths I would rather not go Back to the old house I would rather not go Back to the old house There's too many bad memories Too many memories When you cycled by, here began all my dreams The saddest thing I've ever seen And you never knew How much I really liked you Because I never even told you Oh, and I meant to Are you still there? Or have you moved away? Or have you moved away? I would love to go Back to the old house But I never will I never will, I never will I never will Songwriters: Johnny Marr, Steven Patrick Morrissey.

Autism in TV shows and Movies. The misrepresentation of autism in movies and TV shows perpetuates stereotypes and fails to capture the true diversity of the autistic experience. By ensuring authentic representation through casting autistic actors, collaborating with consultants, and involving autistic individuals in the creative process, media can play a vital role in fostering understanding, acceptance, and inclusion. It is crucial for filmmakers and producers to recognize their responsibility in shaping public perception and work towards more accurate portrayals of autism in the future. #media #autism #autismawareness #movies #tvshows #disabilityawareness #filmmaking #interview
