Oizom's technology is making a real difference in air quality research. Researchers from Wuppertal, Germany, utilized Oizom's devices to gain valuable insights into air pollution and presented the report in the proceedings of the 24th International Transport and Air Pollution (TAP) Conference. Researchers tested and validated low-cost sensor systems for air quality monitoring in Germany, and Oizom’s Polludrone was one of them. The results showed a good linear correlation between the sensors and the reference stations, especially for gas pollutants like NO, NO2, and O3. Even fine particles (PM2.5) could be measured with some adjustments. This research also suggests low-cost sensors are reliable for creating dense air quality monitoring networks due to their portability and affordability. #research #initiative #airquality #monitoring #oizom

European Water Technology Week, September 23-26, a congress at the intersection of science, innovation, talent and business in water technology. An example of a scientific session: The world is full of unexpected but very much needed sensors. You could describe them as cyborg bacteria and digital phantom sensors. Improve you water monitoring with existing infrastructure. Join session 2.4 of #ewtw2024 to know more. As more and more substances have to be tested for quality control, the demand and price of lab tests rise – at that mostly to accommodate legal reasons. But what is you can get more out of your monitoring? Using existing sensors or relying on present biology could not only ensure you cheaper monitoring, but can tell you even more about the origin of your contaminants. This session will break it all down for you. https://lnkd.in/erT7HR89

In the domain of water management, a pioneering collaboration between industry leaders and innovators has introduced a transformative solution to the global challenge of leaks and breaks. Over the past two years, advanced acoustic sensing technology, led by UTS Data Science Institute and Robotics Institute, has emerged as a beacon of hope. With 270 strategically placed sensors across urban areas, this technology is revolutionizing leak prevention and water loss mitigation while minimizing disruptions for customers. At its core is a machine learning-powered web portal developed by DSI, effectively discerning real leaks from false alarms by consolidating data from multiple sources to offer a proactive approach to addressing leaks and breaks. ? The impact of this initiative is profound, with over 160 leaks detected across urban areas, resulting in the preservation of over 7000 megalitres of water valued at over $19 million. Acoustic sensing has proven highly effective, outperforming traditional programs by identifying a significantly larger number of leaks. Recognized for its excellence, this project led by UTS DSI has received prestigious awards such as the AWA R&D Excellence Award (NSW) in 2022 and the UTS Medal for Research Impact. ? Beyond its technological advancements, this project underscores the power of collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to sustainable water management, paving the way for a future where leaks are detected and prevented before they disrupt communities. #WaterManagement #Innovation #DataScience #MachineLearning #SustainableFuture #UTS #LeakDetection #AcousticSensing #ResearchImpact #Collaboration #SmartCities Bin Liang

HARTING connects people, machines and cars. We are enabling an electrified future - sustainable and smart! Pushing Performance for new standards in connectivity!
Next week the time has come, and we will be at the HANNOVER MESSE from 22.04. to 26.04.2024! Behind the scenes, preparations are already in full swing and the anticipation is growing! There are a lot of plans and highlights that I would love to share here on LinkedIn, but are there to be experienced on site! From exciting guests and important announcements to ideas that will be made tangible. We are also particularly pleased about the location of our stand this year. As some of you may already know, you will find us in the immediate vicinity of the All-Electric-Society-Arena – this year the ZVEI e. V. is presenting the All-Electric-Society-Arena for the first time and is dedicating an independent stand to this important topic. ?? Why do we need a separate stand for this energy efficiency scenario? Quite simply, because this idea follows a holistic approach and aims to tackle the energy supply of our society in all sectors. In order to bring a climate-neutral society to life, the industry, mobility, energy, infrastructure, and agriculture sectors must be given equal consideration. Each of these sectors will have its own appearance within our stand and can be explored in a creative way. ?? Industry: An electrified and digitalized society requires modern, industrial production facilities and energy-efficient manufacturing processes. ?? Mobility: Whether electromobility or rail technology — here, too, we need solutions that meet our goals in environmental protection and the responsible use of resources. ?? Energy: Fossil fuels must be replaced by renewable energies such as hydropower, wind and solar energy. ?? Infrastructure: The aspects of urban planning, short traffic routes and an intelligent supply network must also be taken into account. ?? Agriculture: In agriculture, the main focus is on maintaining and promoting soil productivity and minimizing damage to the environment, climate, and biodiversity. We at HARTING Technology Group are proud to be able to contribute to the vision of the #All-ElectricSociety in so many areas. All the more reason for us to look forward to welcoming you soon at the Hannover Messe. Together, we will be visualizing the possibilities of shaping an energy supply that is essentially based on renewable energies and making them tangible in practice. #hannovermesse #HM24 #HARTING #connectingtheallelectricsociety #pushingperformance
