Perhaps this is a symptom of a busy store, maybe trying to stock too much range, or even complacency on the part of store staff. Here's something you don't see nearly enough in retail at the moment ... cleaning. So massive kudos to Next in Martlesham today. It's all too easy when times are tough to cut hours in the shops and cleaning hours are often the first to go. Standards in some national retailers aren't good enough right now and that gives shoppers another reason to shop on line. This week I've been talking in the media about the very real impact of the budget on retailers operating models the challenges on store hours are only just beginning. #retail #retailoperations #standards
