As demand for business architecture accelerates, the Vendor Program reflects the Guild's commitment to advancing the discipline. The program recognizes vendors whose products align with the Guild's business architecture metamodel or recently published, Business Architecture Core Metamodel (BACM), an open standard from the Object Management Group (OMG?). The BACM furthers efforts to ensure that organizations have access to business architecture tools that align with industry best practices. Today, we took part in the SwitchOn Europe Enterprise Architecture Conference,?https://lnkd.in/dJFDDUJq. Thanks to Philip and his team for organizing this great event. We presented a case for the 'future of EA' where low-code enables us to solve the challenge labelled by Gartner as "'non-consumable business architecture". In our case we exampled with Next-Insight,?www.next-insight.com, helping organisations to benefit from a modern low-code to accelerate the EA practice work on building teams and progress as a journey of value sprints. During the session today, we managed to get a poll of the key use-case as recognized by the attendees. The poll was limited to our question of 4 options to choose between, but it provides a clear intersection of business process management and traditional enterprise architecture management, as seen by the poll score: - Primary use-case: Business Architecture & Processes Management, counts for 35.5% of the scores, - Secondary use-case: Applications Portfolio Management (APM) and Integrations Management, 32.3%. - Third use-case: Roadmaps & Development Initiatives as the funnel for evaluating new initiatives in planning, 23.7%. - The fourth option: ArchiMate & UML Modelling, only 8.5% saw this as primary use-case. The picture clearly indicates almost an equal focus on business, applications and investments architecture over notation. 95 votes in total. We will facilitate a related webinar next week, as a free webinar, where we can demonstrate how to ensure these foci are addressed all-in-one in moderne and consumable EA management. It just just requires some guidance and guard-rails to help you accelerate your EA practice.
