??I’m excited to announce that I’ve successfully completed my underwriting internship at Victor Insurance! ?? This internship provided me with invaluable hands-on experience and deepened my understanding of the underwriting process. During my time at Victor Insurance, I had the opportunity to: ?? Collect and organize critical documentation from clients, such as financial statements, credit reports, and prior insurance records. ?? Perform detailed evaluations of potential clients’ financial backgrounds and creditworthiness. ?? Analyze data to assist in making informed underwriting decisions and to refine risk management approaches. ?? Engage in training sessions and workshops that enhanced my knowledge of underwriting principles and best practices. ?? Work closely with seasoned underwriters, gaining practical experience and insights into their decision-making processes. ?? Use specialized underwriting software to input data, run risk assessments, and generate comprehensive reports. It’s because they, like 99% of other applicants, were?rejected?from Goldman Sachs’s summer internship. The prestigious investment bank said that just 0.9% of the record 315,000 applications were accepted this year, down from 5% a decade ago and the first time the rate’s been below 1%. JPMorgan’s wealth management internship was similarly cutthroat: The rival financial giant accepted only 4,000 of the 493,000 hopefuls, Business Insider reported. On the bright side, those rejected are no longer required to spend their paychecks on Patagonia zip-up vests.

"I learned more about the carrier side and agency side of the insurance industry. I was able to gain better knowledge of Claims Adjusters, Underwriters, Risk Managers, and Insurance agents' day-to-day tasks. I learned that I love a team environment, I'm adaptable and grew my time management skills My internship at Builders Mutual gave me more clarity on what I would like to do after I graduate because I was able to job shadow, attend trainings and network with every department. I am halfway through my Internship and it's flying by! Every second with CM&F Group has been amazing! And even that is an understatement. They have taught me so much about myself and the insurance world! I could go on and on about everything I learned from the basics of insurance to medical spa coverages. But I think that is just the bigger picture. I want to focus on what has made this internship so special; Edna, Hunter, William, and Jack. Here are the three big lessons I learned from them... 1. Work at a place where you feel appreciated in your role. 2. Whatever you choose to do in life, don't do it halfway. Dive in and do the best you can do! 3. The importance of treating everyone the way you want to be treated. This goes for both the clients needing help and your fellow coworkers.
