Activate, the world's first active gaming facility, is set to revolutionize entertainment in the DACH region of Central Europe. Through an exclusive partnership with VRex Entertainment and Sounds Fun Entertainment, Activate will introduce its cutting-edge, tech-driven gaming experiences to Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. As I count down the days to Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2024, I'm reflecting on my favorite parts from last year's festival and the many industry trends and advancements that have taken shape... Part 2: 'How is 'the metaverse' dead if we can't define what it is?' While it may not be referred to as 'the metaverse,' immersive technology has only continued to explode: XR: The Vision Pro took the industry by storm. After Apple's February launch, brands and companies jumped at the opportunity to use the platform for consumer engagement, workforce optimation, education, and entertainment. Just look at Disney, ELF, Snickers, and Alo–there's no shortage of incredible industry experiences! AR: Additionally, Emarketer reported that in Q4 2023, Snapchat had 414 million daily active users, 300 million of whom engaged with the platform's AR capabilities. Virtual Worlds: Roblox continues to report high numbers with its virtual worlds, projecting $3.3 billion in revenue in 2024 and 300M active players monthly (70M/daily).
