The #CLPRpublications series continues with - Intersections of Caste and Gender: Implementation of Devdasi Prohibition Laws. This policy brief gives an insight to the intersections of caste and gender while examining the Devadasi practice and the lack of implementation of laws to prohibit them. The brief also makes recommendations to ensure not only the implementation of these legislations but also law reform to ensure that such discrimination against women and girls on the basis of caste and gender is systemically removed. This day is used to mark the progress made, but more importantly the progress still needed to make LGBT+ rights and life quality equal with peers. ?? In the spirit of inclusivity and encouraging open conversations, I encourage to ask yourself: How can we turn prejudice, bigotry or microaggressions into open, honest dialogue and a learning curve?
