"STEM education is important to OIC and to our South Florida community because it offers a gateway to future opportunities that provide not only economic stability — but economic mobility, " said Newton B. Sanon, President & CEO of OIC of South Florida. "We carry on Rev. Sullivan’s legacy by preparing our youth for in-demand careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics." This weekend, we hosted our inaugural STEMFest at Nova Southeastern University in partnership with OIC of America! Fittingly hosted during Black History Month, this event not only celebrated the progress our organization has made but also honors the legacy of our founder, Rev. Dr. Leon H. Sullivan, whose vision continues to inspire us every day. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event a success. We had over 50 vendors and 500+ youth join us for a day of STEM-filled learning and fun! We want to give a special thank you to the Children's Services Council of Broward County for their support and generous funding. Together, we're shaping the next generation of innovators! #oicstemfest2025 #stemeducation #stem #fortlauderdale #southflorida Young At Art MuseumParadox Museum Miami ARK Solvers CybersecurityMiami Dade College IKEA Urban League of Broward County Patricia & Phillip Frost Science Museum
