I received a certificate for completing the course 'The Science of Stem Cells' on Coursera. I found it fascinating to gain knowledge in this field, and the way the material was presented made complex topics easy to understand. This experience allowed me to explore the broad spectrum that biotechnology comprises.

This book, set to release in September 2024, offers a comprehensive overview of multifunctional nanoparticles used in phototherapy, with a strong focus on the fundamentals of nanotechnology and the latest research in photothermal therapy (PTT) and photodynamic therapy (PDT). It thoroughly describes various phototherapeutic nanomaterials, including their structural features and synthesis. Remarkably, this is the first book to explore nanomaterial-based phototherapy for both cancer and bacterial infections, making it an essential resource for researchers, academics, and professionals interested in the therapeutic potential of these innovative materials. ?? Plant stem cell-like methodology illuminates the formation of specialized cell walls. Scientists at Penn State have created a novel technique that enables them to transform isolated plant cells into diverse cell types, much how stem cells may differentiate into various cell types. The research team used this technique to investigate the methods used to develop the banding patterns that improve the rigidity of plant cell walls, which are similar to the corrugated patterns found in cardboard. ?? Last June, I completed my thesis titled "Nanotechnology: a Promising Approach for the Treatment of Parkinson's Disease" at?Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. With it, I aimed to shed light on the new strategies being developed for the treatment of this neurodegenerative disease and their current status. It was a great experience that enriched my knowledge on the matter and allowed me to put into practice all the information I have acquired during my years as a Biotechnology student.

Integrating plant biology with nanotechnology, molecular biology, and cancer bioinformatics unlocks innovative solutions. Plant-derived nanoparticles and nanocellulose materials revolutionize biomedical applications. Genetic engineering and synthetic biology enable novel crop traits and pharmaceutical production. Bioinformatics analysis of plant genomics informs cancer research, revealing anticancer compounds and metabolic pathways. I'm thrilled to share our latest research published in Applied Organometallic Chemistry!. A big thank you to my Ph.D. supervisor Prof. Suman Mukhopadhyay, for his valuable support and guidance. This manuscript reports the synthesis and characterization of a series of ruthenium(II)-arene complexes with phenolic acid ligands. Among the synthesized complexes, some display cytotoxicity toward melanoma (A375) cell lines and are non-cytotoxic toward non-cancerous cell lines (HEK 293T). The active complexes induce characteristic apoptotic nuclear changes in the cells, evidenced by a decrease in anti-apoptotic protein (Bcl-xL) expression and an increase in pro-apoptotic protein (PARP) expression, supporting cell death by apoptosis. Developing easy-to-prepare and less toxic metallodrugs as cytotoxic agents is a topic of contemporary interest. In this direction, we explored the potential of ruthenium-arene-phenolic carboxylate complexes as anti-cancer agents.
