please lets all do our best to keep the peace. and friendships! :). ?? personally i'm doing okay! and thankful. i'm trying to help in every way possible! one problem i recently discovered is the problem of "required military service' and how that maybe related to "algorithms' if we "require' things. like "war' and "military'. we maybe need a 100% volunteer police department immediately! and never require a war draft. its also wise to solve these problems 100% offline "spiritually'. essentially just be nice with EVERYONE. WE ALSO need to focus on getting people OFFLINE and out of JAIL. we need to think about wiser ways to help people then put them in a cage like an wild animal. or just sit there online all day and night? we need clean water for the wildlife immediately as well. ive been thinking of ways to have more public water fountains (our town public fountain has been broken for almost a year or more?] and wildlife pools.

I was nominated by Kevin Chiaravalloti to do 22 push-ups a day for 22 days to raise awareness for combat veterans/1st responders. There are 22 veterans a day that are committing suicide, and this is a small way to raise awareness for that issue, and honor them. The rules are simple: * Once you are nominated your 22 days start the following day. * Every day you record yourself doing 22 push-ups. Try your best to reach 22. * Every day you must nominate a different person. Try to choose people you think will want to do this and/or have the ability to do it…. And finally, have fun with this! This is a simple and fun way to get the word out about a matter that more people need to be aware about. Beneath the open sky, where freedom once reigned, veterans now endure the indignity of unmet basic needs. Portable latrines replace proper facilities, a daily reminder of the comforts they’ve been denied. These soldiers, guardians of our nation's dreams, are met with the bare minimum, a stark departure from the respect they've earned. Each visit to these blue boxes is a silent protest against broken promises. The gravel beneath their feet speaks of resilience in adversity, but also of neglect from those they served. This isn't the homecoming they deserve. Dignified living shouldn't be a luxury for those who've paid the cost of liberty. 'Line of duty' are actions and activities that are required or expected of members who serve in particular professions such as law enforcement, military, and public service. When a member dies in the line of duty, we all understand that they lost their life while performing those duties. Rightfully so, those incredible people are honored and remembered for their courage, sacrifice, and service to their communities and countries. They are our heroes who gave their lives to protect, serve, and uphold laws and freedoms. We engrave their names on memorials, tell stories of their lives in ceremonies, and their families are given support by the organizations they served. Members who die BECAUSE of the line of duty are also victims of their profession, albeit in a different way. There are physical and mental injuries, illnesses, and diseases, that are either caused by or related to their profession. Consider soldiers and firefighters who have been lost to cancer due to exposure from hazardous materials. Due to occupational stress and trauma, first responders and military members die from suicide. Those who die BECAUSE of the line of duty are often overlooked or forgotten as their deaths are not as public, nor are they revered as equally tragic. Regardless of why or how, those members are also deserving of respect and recognition as their deaths are often the price paid for dedication to their profession. They are also heroes, but their battles are often fought in solitude. Those members need to be honoured, sharing their stories and having their names engraved to be forever remembered. We mustn't ignore or forget that their colleagues, families, and friends also need and deserve support from the communities and organizations that they once served. I see you. We share concerns from many experts & advocates following today's #SCOTUS decision to strike down #JohnsonVGrantsPass. It will surely have devastating impacts on unhoused people in this country — many of whom also struggle with #foodinsecurity. Those who are unhoused are vulnerable in so many ways, which often includes struggling to feed themselves and their families. Punishing people who struggle is anathema to both our Jewish and American values. As our friends at the NATIONAL COALITION FOR HOMELESS VETERANS and University of California, Los Angeles - School of Law pointed out, many of America’s #veterans who fought for our country will be impacted by this decision. They deserve support — not barriers or punishments — as they reintegrate into civilian life following military service. The #JohnsonVGrantsPass decision represents the cruelty towards & desire to stigmatize those most in need. It mirrors and emboldens rhetoric we see and hear every day, and it emboldens us to continue to fight for #veterans & all those who are struggling.

I hate writing this but it's necessary in my mind. Last night, the end of a day thinking about departed comrades and enjoying a Boston Celtics sweep, I got the news that a former shipmate, a senior enlisted man, committed suicide while on terminal leave. For my non-veteran friends, that means he was about to leave military service. Several of the people on my list from the Memorial Day post I made were victims of suicide. One of them was one of them was my Plebe Year roommate from the Naval Academy. In the latest report from the VA, 17 Veterans take their life every day on average. Other data indicates this may be an underreporting, with the true number being 22 per day. Additionally, 20 per day lose their life via self-injury mortality, aka overdose. Why post this here? 1. You never know what burdens someone, veteran or not, is carrying. I can say that, to a person, every person I've know that committed suicide was a cheerful, seemingly happy, individual. So err on the side of kindness. It literally costs you nothing. Ask if you have the slightest notion that someone is having suicidal ideations. It is not an exaggeration to say it might save a life. 2. Your support is needed to help fight this battle. There are many organizations dedicated to this problem and you can advocate (and vote for) officials that will prioritize proper funding of the VA and in particular mental health services.
