Progress of my first painting for ARTT 320 at the University of Maryland-Global Campus! Our first painting focuses on using the Grisaille technique to accurately develop the values of each object in a painting. Grisaille was commonly used by artists in the 15th and 16th centuries when creating different sculptures, as well as under paintings of their works. The next step will be to capture the lighter values of the series of bags that I’ve modeled in my still-life.

People often make the assumption that a library only provides books. And while, yes, books are the main tool, what libraries are trying to provide and focus on is information itself. Information can be expressed in many shapes and forms, incluiding courses, clubs, videos, images, documents... Seeing a library as "a place to get books" is rather simplistic, and doesn't express correctly the cultural importance that a library can have within a community.
