ASU members campaigned hard and won 10 days of paid family and domestic violence leave – a life-saving policy that came into effect in 2023. This incredible achievement was made possible by over a decade of tireless campaigning by advocates and union members working together. A recent study from Flinders University reveals the positive impact: 91% of workers who accessed the leave were able to maintain their income, giving them vital options to escape dangerous situations and access support. But while the scheme is working, there's more to be done! We need to keep spreading the word about this critical entitlement and how to access it.
