We are glad to share a first-hand look at ShoreLink Cruise Cable Management System in action at?Alesund Norway Cruise Port and Plug | Shore Power & Maritime Charging.
Watch the video showcasing the cruise shore power connection and hear directly from shore power operators Benedikte Ester Haukeland Vatne and Sjur Aurdal about their experience.
?? Job Excitement and Satisfaction
Benedikte Ester Haukeland Vatne finds her job exciting, noting, “I enjoy working with these machines; they are one of a kind! The consumption from cruise ships is very high, and I feel importance to make the environment better and greener by plugging these into our electrical power in ?lesund. The most exciting part must be the coordination of everything onshore.”
Sjur Aurdal shares this enthusiasm, stating, “Everything from inside the facility to the machines we operate on the port and how the ship’s systems work is just, wow!”
? Ease of Use and Safety
Benedikte mentions, “For me, it’s rather easy to operate the machines, but for new people, it will be a learning process. You definitely learn as you go, as with everything else in this world.”
Sjur emphasizes the importance of safety, noting, “There are so many failsafe systems and sensors that make it feel like if you do something wrong, the machines would tell you! Safety?has been the number one concern when the machines were constructed. I am just happy we have this kind of machinery to assist us with the connections, as I’ve heard some of our colleagues at other ports have it quite a bit harder when it comes to connecting.”
Overall, the experiences of Benedikte and Sjur underscore ease of use, safety, and operational excitement, making it a valuable asset for the Aalesund Cruise Port and Plug | Shore Power & Maritime Charging.
We are very thankful to Benedikte and Sjur for their openness in sharing their experiences and for contributing to a greener future by using our equipment.
