Dementia in Canada is more than a health issue—it’s a nationwide crisis impacting?communities, caregivers and those we love. ? Today, more than 700,000 Canadians are living with dementia, and by 2030, that number is expected to reach over 1 million. Behind each statistic are care partners who dedicate countless hours, energy, and compassion to support their loved ones. In fact, care partners provide an estimated 1.3 billion hours of unpaid care annually, often at a personal and financial cost. ? At CLEAR, we believe in the power of research to drive change. That’s why as a proud member of the Foundation's Board of Directors; I am thrilled to announce our year-end fundraising campaign with a 2X match opportunity for all donations up to $50,000 from now until December 31st. ? This is a critical moment to advance the science that gives hope to people facing Alzheimer's disease and related dementias and their families. Your gift today means double the resources, double the research, and double the support for a future free from the devastating effects of this disease. ? Donate now and make twice the difference. We often talk about the spectrum of relationship options in embryo donation matches and the importance of having a consensual way for children and families to connect in the future, regardless of the relationship the adults may choose to have. But when you’re at the beginning of this journey and filling out your profile, how do you know what kind of contact, communication and relationship you want? While you can't always forecast exactly what you or the children connected may want, you can consider what kind of contact/relationship you feel open to now, through the treatment/embryo transfer phase, and what you might be open to in the future. ??This is our favorite webinar, because how to talk to kids about embryo donation is really at the core of why we do what we do. ????As parents of children connected to embryo donation, we know that starting the conversation early and helping children understand their connection to embryo donation and to full genetic siblings raised in different homes with different parents is SO important. ??One of our missions is to help families have the language and the confidence to share their family narrative with their children in age appropriate ways, and to support healthy and happy relationships! Check out this webinar and others on our FREE education platform! ??Talking to Kids About Embryo Donation: https://lnkd.in/ejY6yX5T #EMPOWERwithMoxi #EmbryoDonation #MoxiMatching #familybuilding

I don't post much on here but I wanted to take advantage of the network available to me here that I wouldn't be able to reach so easily in any other way! This Sunday, April 21st, I will be participating in the runDisney 10-Miler at Walt Disney World running with Team Hope Story, Inc. - a nonprofit organization that helps provide support to new parents and families facing a down syndrome diagnosis. They connect them with a network of other families for resources, education, support, and most importantly - hope. I am collecting donations on their behalf and 100% of funds collected will be put back into the organization (see below how a donation, no matter the size, can make an impact). Please consider taking a moment and donate at my link below. Or take a moment and share this post to your network to expand our reach even farther. Whatever you can do is more than enough. ? Here's how your donation can be put to work: $5.00 - Prints 10 “How to Deliver a Down Syndrome Diagnosis with Hope” Booklets. $10.00 - Prints 8 Hope Stories Booklets, which answer questions in story form that new parents may have. These books are distributed nationwide to new parents and physicians. $25.00 - Provides one Hope Kit to an existing parent of a child with Down Syndrome so they can “adopt” their medical professional and provide peer support to new local parents. $50 - Produces material for twenty medical professional folders, providing resources to help medical professionals deliver a Down Syndrome diagnosis to new parents. $75 - Provides and ships one box (thirty books) of our Hope Stories Booklets to a medical office to give to families with a new diagnosis $100 - Helps create five podcasts that can encourage parents with a child with Down Syndrome $250 - Helps maintain, host, and update our website so that we can continue to reach new families $500 - Funds a table for our medical professional dinners. These dinners allow medical professionals to hear firsthand from families raising a child with Down Syndrome and experienced medical providers who have cared for families of children with Down Syndrome for over a decade. $1000 - Helps create new video content for new parents and medical professionals. https://lnkd.in/gq3weq3u

As we come to the end of #birthtraumaawarenessweek2024, we urge everyone to create a more informed, supportive, and proactive environment for addressing the challenges associated with traumatic birth experiences. During childbirth, It is important that the person must be given all the information about what the treatment involves, including the benefits and risks, whether there are reasonable alternative treatments, and what will happen if treatment does not go ahead. Talkthru is still #HereToListen #Counsellinguk #birthtraumaawarenessweek2024 #charity

Today, we commemorate #DonateLife Blue and Green Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness about tissue and organ donation. As we reflect on this day, two crucial issues come to light regarding transplant care. First, it’s critical to acknowledge the pivotal role that caregivers play through every step of the process. Most living donations occur within families, increasing the likelihood of the donor becoming a caregiver to the recipient. Second, it's imperative to address the inequities families of color face to access the waitlist, find a suitable match, and navigate the donation process. Read NAC's Transplant Caregiving in the U.S Report to learn about how family caregivers are unrecognized, unprepared and under-resourced, and the urgent need to increase support services in the transplant system.? https://lnkd.in/ePBVe8mv #BlueandGreenDay #TransplantCare
