In the Philippines this will get political when ECONOMICS and SCIENCE are not political - these are facts that occur BEFORE PERSPECTIVE distorts and shapes it. He puts how its UNSUSTAINABLE in the long run... and yeah its a generational thing where every succeeding generation will have it worse. Facts inform us before we decide how to solve the problem - Politics what the person values and deeply analyzes what we hold dearest. Its a generational thing if the previous generation doesnt LOVE their children and their childrens children and has no empathy for the lot of their neighbors.

Straight from the colonial playbook again…all talk and no action…empty words for favourable optics in the public eye. New piece in Business Day, written with Fezeka Ludidi for a large collective of civil society organisations working on housing in South Africa. We argue that the current draft of the Human Settlements White Paper must be comprehensively reworked to meet our country's needs. This is the first big human settlements policy reform in 20 years. Unfortunately, there is little clarity and coherence in the current draft, which could lead to disastrous consequences for millions of families. A different approach is needed. “The International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR) provides the most significant legal source of the right to adequate housing. Article 11(1) recognises the right of everyone to an adequate standard of living for himself and his family, including housing, and to the continuous improvement of living conditions.” (Human Rights Commission 2004). I'm excited to share my recent research as part of the Urban Law and Policy: A Comparative Perspective course under Prof. Elena De Nictolis and Prof. Christian Laione. My essay analyzes the legal dimensions of housing rights for Palestinians, Muslims, and Jews in Jerusalem within the framework of international human rights law. Given the current political situation in Israel, where tensions over territory and rights persist, this research is highly relevant. Understanding the legal and policy frameworks affecting housing rights can inform more equitable and sustainable solutions.
