Autism is not a mental health condition, but increased levels of anxiety and the relentless demands of having to navigate a world that is not designed to support autistic differences can lead to poor mental health. Autism Education Trust (AET) Panel of AYEs discuss this, and the strategies they have discovered that can support their well-being and avoid episodes of autistic burnout. Regular activities like yoga, meditation, and journaling are among the strategies talked about by the Panel as having helped ground, centre, and reduce the frequency and severity of burnouts.
