Did you pick up a coffee on your way to work this morning? If so, did you pause to appreciate the time and care that has gone into that cup of coffee? Just think about it, from bean selection to the temperature of the milk, not to mention the art of showcasing the beauty of the milk while meeting the coffee and topping off the perfect brew just for you. Did you know that selecting the right candidate for your vacancy takes time, care and, in Howard’s quote below, ‘Art’? Once you have experienced a bad coffee, you’re unlikely to return to the same barista for a repeat experience. So, why would you make the same decision and run the same recruitment process after a bad hire? Make the change today and partner with the Talent Connection team; we understand the art of recruitment and the importance of aligning the right talent with your company. https://lnkd.in/gPKbMayT #recruitmentandselection #talentfinding #talentsourcing #culturefit #mondaycoffee #themorningcoffee

I love #smalltown coffee shops. I have a running list of my favorites: - Filament Coffee in Mebane, NC - Safehouse Coffee in Griffin, GA - Lucky Llama in Carpinteria, CA - REdefined in Grapevine, TX - Fox in the Snow, Columbus, OH - Sump Coffee, St.Louis, MO ... I could go on According to my 2021 LinkedIn poll, 90% of you prefer local eateries over chain establishments (out of 4,749 votes) Going to mainstream giant coffee chains like Starbucks or Dunkin' is less risky. When you go there, you know what you're going to get. My experience at a Starbucks is *always* a 6 out of 10. Just slightly better than average but not spectacular. Basic. That's not always the case at a local coffee shop. You could get the most personable barista & the freshest tasting coffee you've ever had.... or you could find a coffee shop that does self-serve Folgers House (true story: I once found myself in the middle of nowhere in North Carolina at a coffee shop with 10-different flavors of Folgers) They are either a 10 or a 2. I am generally willing to take the risk. I can make better than average at home in my Mochamaster. When I go out, I want my taste buds to be delighted. What does coffee have to do with a job search? --- According to an article in Ivy Exec, 70% of companies are likely to implement a hiring freeze in the coming months. Not only are they hiring less, but many companies are not letting hiring managers backfill roles when an employee leaves. Teams are spread thin & will be working harder than before. When a manager finally gets the green light to hire a new employee, do you think they'd rather hire a 10, 6, or 2 out of 10 performer? Spoiler alert: They are going to want the candidate who checks off all of the boxes, can cartwheel one-handed, speaks ten languages, & is an award-winning backyard BBQer. ?????? ???????????????? ???? ?????????????? ?????? ???????????????????? ???? ?????????? ???? ?????? ???? ??????. From my experience, here is how modern job seekers prepare for an upcoming interview: 2 out of 10: Sets aside an hour to prepare before the interview. Reads over job description. Thinks about their value proposition. Researches company benefits on website & comes up with a list of 3 questions. 6 out of 10: Asks ChatGPT to come up with interview answers based on the job description. Memorizes the answers. Gets on LinkedIn & looks up the people they are going to be interviewing with. 10 out of 10: Starts preparation process with "why" questions. - Seeks to understand why they are hiring, what their pain points are & why they are the best person for the job. - Dissects job description & thoughtfully crafts answers to spoon-feed the hiring manager what they care about. - Does several mock interviews-- first with an AI tool like Yoodli AI Communication Coach & then with an interview coach. - Researches the individuals that they will be meeting with & thinks about ways to personally connect with each person. Picture a world-class chef applying for a position at a Michelin-starred restaurant, only to be served a microwave meal during the interview. Absurd, right? Yet, in the realm of recruitment, similarly underwhelming experiences are often served to candidates. What are the hidden costs of a poor Candidate Journey? When job seekers encounter a subpar recruitment process, the fallout extends far beyond a single missed opportunity: ?? Brand Reputation Takes a Hit: In our hyper-connected world, negative experiences spread like wildfire. ?? Potential Customers Lost: Ever considered that today's applicant could be tomorrow's big client? ? Time-to-Hire Stretches: Top talent drops out, leaving you with a dwindling pool of candidates. ?? Recruitment Costs Soar: Longer processes and wider sourcing nets quickly inflate budgets. At Artis, we're passionate about turning this tide. We ensure candidates receive the red-carpet treatment through a tailored approach to collaboration. By immersing ourselves in our clients' culture, we become authentic brand ambassadors. We champion communication throughout the process, from providing deep role insights to comprehensive interview preparation, keeping candidates informed and valued every step of the way. #Recruitmentrevolution #Candidatejourney #Employerbranding #HRInsights #Artisrecruitment

Support independent coffee shops and enjoy a unique cup while helping local baristas.. Recruiting is a like brewing the perfect cup of coffee ?: Sourcing: First, you need to find the right beans..! Others are more of a decaf: Seems promising on paper but doesn't quite give you the buzz you were expecting. (Great for low-energy environments, though!) Screening: Grind those beans just right—too fine, and you'll miss the good stuff; too coarse, and it gets messy! Interviewing: The brewing process—some drip, some pour-over, but everyone's trying to impress with their flavour. Hiring: Finally, you find that perfect blend, and voilà! You've made a hire... Tonight, I grilled hamburgers for my grandchildren. As I stood there flipping burgers, I realized the process is a lot like recruitment: Preparation Matters: Just like getting the grill to the right temperature, preparing thoroughly before engaging with candidates is crucial. Understand what your business needs and how the candidate fits that picture. Rushing it leads to undercooked burgers—or misaligned hires. The Right Ingredients: Not every hamburger is the same—just like candidates. You need the right mix of skills, culture fit, and potential. The wrong ingredient can throw off the whole experience. Timing is Everything: Flip too early or wait too long, and the burger either burns or stays raw. In recruitment, if you don't act quickly on the right candidate, you might lose them. But acting too fast without fully evaluating can lead to regret. Patience: Whether it's waiting for the perfect sear on a burger or finding that ideal hire, patience pays off. Good things take time—rushing the process rarely works out well. Grilling reminded me that B2B recruitment, like cooking, takes care, attention, and a little bit of intuition. And in both, when you get it right, the results are incredibly satisfying. #Recruitment #Hiring #Leadership #LessonsLearned

Roast Dinner Season is finally upon us & it got me thinking... Recruitment is a lot like preparing a roast dinner. ??? Every ingredient needs to be carefully selected and perfectly timed for everything to come together seamlessly. Here’s how I see it: The Meat (Main Role): The centerpiece of the meal, just like the key role you're recruiting for. It’s the foundation of everything else, and without it, the dinner wouldn't be complete. Choose wisely! The Veggies (Supporting Roles): Essential sides that bring balance to the plate. Just like team members, they complement and enhance the main role, ensuring the whole organization functions beautifully. The Gravy (Company Culture): The glue that holds everything together. Without a good culture, things can seem dry and disconnected. A little goes a long way, but it’s a vital part of the overall experience. The Roast Potatoes (Benefits & Perks): Everyone’s favorite! It’s what candidates often look forward to when considering an offer—crispy, satisfying, and worth staying for. The Timing (Hiring Process): Get it wrong, and things are either undercooked or burnt out. A smooth, well-paced process ensures that all the pieces come together just in time for a successful placement. Recruitment is an art and science, just like cooking the perfect roast dinner. With the right ingredients, attention to detail, and good timing, you can serve up a team that’s not only successful but also thrives! What’s your secret ingredient to a successful recruitment process? Share below! ?? (and just for good measure, pictured below is my 10/10 roasties from the roast I cooked yesterday) #roastdinner #recruitment #likeforlike #process #hiring

On National Sausage Pizza Day, there's a surprising connection between pizza-making and recruitment. Just like crafting the perfect pizza requires the right blend of ingredients, building a successful team involves finding the right mix of talent. A sausage pizza needs high-quality toppings, a well-prepared base, and a balance of flavors to satisfy, much like a workplace thrives on a well-rounded team, each member contributing their unique skills. In recruitment, finding the perfect candidate can feel like choosing the best ingredients—each must be carefully selected to ensure they fit together harmoniously. At RecruitAbility, we help businesses build their ideal "workplace pizza" by sourcing top talent, ensuring every role is filled with the right person to help your business thrive, just like the perfect sausage pizza satisfies your cravings!
