Our professional training series was developed based on a need for specialized education experience focused on helping people living with intellectual disabilities and mental health conditions by a mental health expert of over 25 years. A combination of scholastic knowledge and practical wisdom lend themselves to the seminars, making theories come to life and lessons relevant. At Mind Speak, Inc. we encourage the exchange of ideas and are delighted to provide guidance and support to the helping community at large. Our courses include official certificates of completion and Continuing Education Units (CEU’s). Mind Speak, Inc. is proud to lead the charge in meaningful and impactful change within the areas of mental health treatment, education, and advocacy. In this way, we provide clinical supervision, sponsor undergraduate internships and graduate school field placements as well as perform consultation services. ?????????? ???? ??????: mindspeakinc.com . #Mindspeak #MentalHealthMatters #PersonalizedSupport #YourJourney #RewriteYourStory #HealingJourney #InnerPeace #MentalHealthMatters #SelfCareJourney #YouAreNotAlone

A practical week in our HSC department! ?????? Based on some employer feedback, students on placement in a HsC setting sometimes lack empathy. Our Level 2 Health and Social Care students are developing their empathy and understanding towards clients with visual impairments by completing tasks while wearing blindfolds. They were asked to create a series of objects out of playdough, a task that required them to rely on communication with their partner rather than vision. This tested their ability to describe and interpret instructions clearly, while also listening attentively and providing feedback. Students had to be creative in how they communicated, using detailed verbal descriptions and asking clarifying questions to ensure they understood each other, all while navigating the challenge of not being able to see. After the task, they reflected on the difficulty of completing it without sight and discussed how this lack of vision could impact a client's health and wellbeing. This exercise was part of their communication unit, preparing them for the challenges they may face when interacting with payients during their work placements in the community, that they are gearing up to begin in the next few weeks! ??

It's truly a privilege to have been chosen by the Association of Experiential Education to be highlighted in their member spotlight. My passion is guiding early career students to acquire valuable experience, master networking, and develop essential skills. Watching them apply theory to real-world scenarios beyond the confines of a classroom ignites my enthusiasm for teaching year after year. https://lnkd.in/eaMUXn28

Summertime as student development professionals is the perfect time for celebration and reflection of the previous year, then planning and preparing for the upcoming year. It also requires us to pivot and be refined in certain areas. Due to an increase in mental health challenges with our students, my professional focus this summer is everything about mental health. This includes learning and researching, benchmarking best practices, creating new processes and protocols to best support our staff as they navigate incidents and ongoing support to care for students, and more! Today was a full, but our team is now certified in Mental Health First Aid! What area(s) of development are you focused on this summer?

Counseling for Young Adults: Many young people in their 20s are struggling today because there is no road map for life after school. Life was structured and scheduled until you were 18 or 22 (depending on if you went to college). You knew when to attend class and what work to turn in to get a good grade. You knew if you earned enough credits, you would graduate. But life after school is very different. Maybe you are in a job that you hate. Perhaps you need help to have a career. No one can definitively tell you if you should return to school or move to a new city. Sometimes, the stress and pressure of these big life decisions are too much to handle. Therapy for 20-somethings can help you navigate life. Things I have Learned as an Intern Educational Psychologist in a Higher Education Institution. As my internship experience wraps up, I have had the privilege of working closely with students navigating the unique challenges of higher education. Here are some key lessons I have learned, which I hope resonate with students: 1. It's okay to struggle University life is demanding, and it’s normal to feel overwhelmed. Asking for help doesn’t mean you’re failing, it shows strength and self-awareness. Seeking support can open doors to new strategies and resources. 2.Self-care isn’t selfish The grind of academics can make it easy to overlook your wellbeing. But taking time to rest, eat well, exercise, and enjoy hobbies is essential for long-term success. Burnout is real, and prevention starts with you. 3. You're more than your marks Your worth is not defined by marks on a paper. University is also about personal growth, relationships, and discovering your passions. Celebrate all your wins, big or small! 4.Mental Health matters Struggling with mental health doesn’t make you weak it makes you human. Whether it’s managing stress, anxiety, or depression, know that help is available, and there’s no shame in accessing it. 5. You are not alone The pressures of higher education can feel isolating, but many of your peers share similar challenges. Building a support network of friends, mentors, and campus services can make a world of difference.

??More than four in five (84%) teachers experienced more work-related stress in the last year. (ITV News) ?? ??The survey, of 11,754 NASUWT members in the UK between October and December last year, suggests 86% of teachers believe that their job has adversely affected their mental health in the last 12 months. ??I understand the stresses that teachers face and there were times when I didn’t know if I could continue teaching because I was overwhelmed. Facing the additional responsibilities with each promotion often left me feeling inadequate. ??I understand the feeling of being overstretched at home and at work; of thinking that my best was not good enough. At times, I was on the verge of quitting. That’s why I’m passionate about empowering teachers to flourish in every phase of their careers. You don’t have to go through this alone. Book a call with me today to discover how I can support you on this journey: https://lnkd.in/eF6rgt6H
