In October 2023, the Zapatistas announced the dismantling of their political system, sparking claims of the movement's end. Instead, it marked a transformation towards further decentralizing power and communalizing land use. Thirty years after their 1994 uprising, the Zapatistas continue to evolve, championing democracy, equality, and self-determination. On New Year's Eve, thousands gathered in Chiapas to celebrate the anniversary, showcasing the movement's resilience and global inspiration. As 2023 ended, hundreds of uniformed Zapatistas, symbolically masked, marched and danced, celebrating on land seized during their historic 1994 uprising. Initially, their revolt demanded land, self-governance, and democratization against colonial oppression, winning national and international support. Despite initial peace talks, distrust in the state led the Zapatistas to build an autonomous life, blending Indigenous practices and Marxist-Leninist principles. They established a self-governing system based on local assemblies and regional councils, rejecting state services and creating their own institutions of justice, education, health, and economy, proving that "another world is possible." https://lnkd.in/g74vP93n #ZapatistaResilience #DecentralizedPower #IndigenousSovereignty

Notion is an awesome Tool. I came around Notion like couple of months ago. But last month i saw a post from Naseer Ahmed Aziz, when it really got me hooked.
