We had the BEST time at the ANCC conference! We are so thankful to have been able to participate and meet all of the fantastic nurses. They are truly inspiring and remind us why we think helping nurses do their job effectively is so important!! We especially loved meeting the other nurse-innovated companies and products in the Nurse Innovation Row. Magnet facilities are constantly striving to lead with the most recent findings on patient care. That includes new innovations like ours! This was a great opportunity for nurses to bring back new ideas and products to their hospitals. Thank you to everyone who has already reached out about trialing the Cordflex clip. We appreciate each and every one of you! ??

Excellence in nursing is not a singular achievement; it is the embodiment of perseverance, compassion, and an unrelenting pursuit of growth. Every day, we are called to rise to the challenges before us—to push the boundaries of what we know, to refine our skills, and to uplift those in our care. True leadership is found not in perfection, but in the unwavering commitment to evolve. It is the courage to learn, to adapt, and to inspire others to do the same. Together, we create a ripple of impact, raising the standard of care and empowering one another to reach new heights. Nurses are so remarkable for many reasons - one of which is their passion for their profession. But what happens when the spark that fuels this passion begins to fade? As leaders, it's important to tend to nurses in order to renew joy and passion, and combat burnout. Here are four strategies to do so: 1. Prioritize Tasks and Empower Nurses to Say "No" While often nurses want to help by doing it all, leaders must help by prioritizing what must get done, verses what are just nice-to-dos. You could also conduct time studies to better understand what tasks can be automated, delegated, or eliminated. 2. Acknowledge Leadership's Role in Culture Having a positive, and joyful work environment, it has to start with the leaders. How one does this is unique to each person, but a few options include leveraging tech, building relationships, and actively listening. 3. Address Generational Needs Now that the workforce spans more generations than ever before, there are more expectations than ever before. Find out what is important to each, and take innovative approaches to address these needs. 4. Integrate Technology for Improved Outcomes Making use of virtual nursing and AI can help enhance patient care, streamline duties, and alleviate on-the-job exhaustion. Do you know that nurses can significantly enhance the clarity and efficiency of their reports by adopting a color-coding traffic light system? ?? This method uses three distinct colors—green ??, yellow ??, and red ??—to indicate the urgency or status of patient information. Green ?? is used for stable patients or routine updates, signaling that no immediate action is required. This allows team members to quickly identify information that is important but not urgent. Yellow ?? represents areas of concern or situations that require monitoring, highlighting patients or issues that might need attention soon. Lastly, red ?? is reserved for critical situations that demand immediate intervention, making it clear where the team needs to focus their efforts without delay. By incorporating this system into reports, nurses can streamline communication, reduce the risk of overlooking important details, and ensure that all team members are on the same page. This approach does not only save time but can also enhance patient safety, as it allows for quick identification of ???????????????????? ???? ???????? ?????????????? ?????????????? ???????????? ???????? ???????? ?????????????????????????? ??????????????? In the September-October 2023 edition of the Journal for Nurses and Professional Development, an eye-opening study revealed surprising insights into nursing and specialization certification. ?? Study Highlights: A study of 142 nurses over five years who took a specialty certification review course showed: 27% passed the exam 3% failed the exam 70% took the class but never took the exam With a 90-100% satisfaction rate for knowledge acquired and test review, why did so many nurses not take the exam? Author Edwin suggested competing priorities, transfers to other specialties, lack of motivation, or test anxiety as possible reasons. Based on my years of experience in standardized test prep, I argue that test anxiety was a significant factor. Procrastination often results from the overwhelming stress and fear of taking the exam. ???? ?????? ?????????????? ???????? ?????????????? ???? ?????????????????? ???????? ????????????' ?????????????????????????? ??????????????, ???? ???????? ???? ????????. This ? At the point of care is always a nurse regardless of healthcare setting. What if .... the "conventional view" of nursing's role was expanded beyond the bedside, and remaining consistent in its holistic approach, included #Planetaryhealth and #sustainability? ?? What would this look like at point of care? ?? What would this look like in dialogue with our patients, their support systems, our interdisciplinary colleagues and community stakeholders ..... and in purposefully appointed collaboration with other parts of their healthcare systems (eg. supply chain / procurement)? ?? What role can APRN's choose to play in this transformative (perhaps hybrid) care model, in the clinical setting, that can be woven into the fabric of their workflow? I ask myself these questions often because this too is #innovation in #nursing. More to come.... #nursesonlinkedin #nursingleadership #nursingeducation #nursinginnovation #globalhealth #healthcaresystems #healthequity #sdoh #PoliticalDeterminatesOfHealth #healthpolicy #ThinkingOutsideTheBox #collaborations #partnerships

Confession - I used to think the only way to #innovate in #nursing was to be at the bedside and develop new and creative products. While this certainly is an innovative approach, there are other ways #nurses can embrace innovation and disruption within healthcare. Disruption and innovation are essential qualities for nurses who want to make a real difference in the lives of patients; they are not just buzzwords. Nurses are uniquely positioned to identify problems and develop creative solutions. We have a deep understanding of #patient needs and the challenges facing our #healthcare system. We make data-informed decisions to improve patient outcomes every day. So, how can you disrupt and innovate, even if you aren't at the bedside? 1. Use critical thinking to identify problems and develop creative solutions. 2. Redesign nursing #curricula to incorporate innovative teaching methods, simulations, and technology-based platforms. 3.
