This past weekend on April 5th, I was able to partake in a transformative experience with my MKM (Mankind Movement) brothers. We hosted the first-ever Mankind Movement Conference. The Mankind Movement Conference left a profound impact on me. We held this event in collaboration with other men of color organizations from prestigious institutions such as Harvard, MIT, Tufts University, Boston College, Northeastern University, and Boston University. This event made it possible to bring together other men of color from across the Greater Boston Area. This conference created a powerful safe space for connection and growth. We heard from a variety of inspiring professionals who worked in firms such as State Street, Deloitte, PwC, etc. These seasoned professionals opened up about what it means to be a man of color in a corporate space. We also heard some insight from NFL Guard Mackenzy Bernadeau and NFL Cornerback Devin McCourty who spoke on the meaning of brotherhood. However, the conference was not just about lectures; it fostered an environment for exchanging ideas, forging collaborations, and learning from experienced men of color who have walked the path before us. In a world where corporate opportunities and strong networks can be elusive for men of color, this conference offered a beacon of empowerment, and elevation, and opened the door to a broader network. It was a beautiful reminder of the strength that comes from connecting with our community and sharing our journeys. I would like to not only thank my MKM President Bolaji Odusanya, but I would like to thank the MKM E-board members, as we helped our president orchestrate this event. This event could not have taken place without our strong brotherhood coming together in an effort to leave a legacy on this campus for men of color. #mankindmovementconference #mankindmovement #menofcolor #networkingevent #diversityleadership #DEI
