As a natural high achiever and someone who cares about others I know you’re always giving others a high five ??? But how often do you stop and give yourself one? ?? The hardest thing as a high achiever is to recognise just how much you do for others And you NEED to have that space because that’s what fills your cup back up again…we’re human and recognition is a basic human need so don’t feel guilt for it! But more often than not I hear from clients it’s not going to be the friends and family closest to you that gives you that high five and because you’re not getting it you go into delivering MORE to your clients in the hope you might get seen in this way. This is just ONE of the reasons my clients say they love my Time to Thrive Mastermind and one recently said she comes to our group first to celebrate her wins because she knows it’s a group who see her work, who get it and what goes behind all that work ?? As humans, we’re geared to answer “What’s next?” But instantly setting your eyes on the horizon to find the next best thing doesn’t belong when you’ve just had a win.? Pause. Relish it.? I know even in my business, whether I’ve had a successful campaign or client workshop, I tend to go into future-proof mode and think about what’s next on my plate without enjoying and digesting the last, delicious meal I just ate.? I know being present in our careers and celebrating wins is easier said than done. You might not want to celebrate in fear that failure lies around the next corner. Or maybe you’re eager to replicate your success.? But by pausing and celebrating your wins as they come, you can: - Uncover what made the win successful and reapply it in new opportunities.? - Overcome failures more easily by remembering everything you’ve accomplished and exactly what you’re capable of.?? I’ve been reflecting lately and realized that I’ve always been apart of top five winning organizations in their industries and have been able to inspire change and innovate processes in many of these organizations I’ve been apart of. From being able to train top District General Managers to be successful, to promoting and helping the enterprise attain enterprise growth strategies beyond the level of growth expected nationally and internationally, and train and developing top talent to not only grow in each of those companies but to flourish in the careers in other roles as well. Sometimes you have to reflect and thank yourself for the accomplishments you have achieved and keep note of them. A previous leader of mine said; you’ve accomplished so many things however sometimes you need to slow down and keep record of those accomplishments to be able to speak more about all of the great things you’ve done in your tenure to show how much impact you’ve made. I guess the advice I would have for future leaders is to always keep track of the amazing things you’ve done and to celebrate them. No one knows how much sleepless nights, strategies, and passion went into what you done to help grow your industries and how that impact affects so many people.
