Yesterday, I had the opportunity to participate in a training session with the CEV-Centre for European Volunteering on V-Calc – a tool designed to measure and highlight the impact of volunteer efforts. V-Calc provides NGOs with a structured way to quantify the value of their volunteers' contributions, helping organizations showcase the real-world benefits of volunteer work to stakeholders. As a free resource, it makes it accessible for NGOs of all sizes to track and assess the outcomes of their activities, strengthening the case for sustained funding and support. It also helps volunteers track the value of their contributions, as well as to highlight their impact, strengthening their CVs and demonstrating the value of their skills. If anyone is interested in developing their skills in Volunteering, a quick thought based on my experience that might be helpful. ?? Here’s how I got started:

Just days after a report from Youth Employment UK showed a significant drop in young people volunteering, falling from 24% in 2023 to 17%, we spent today at University of Leicester Students' Union.?? Despite the headlines, we spent the whole day talking non-stop to students who were eager and engaged, and wanting to find out more about volunteering with Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. ?? One important element of our new volunteering strategy at Rainbows is ensuring that we're able to adjust and meet the needs of a changing society. This includes making sure that we have volunteering roles which are flexible and engaging - allowing people to make a meaningful difference, no matter how much time or commitment they are able to offer. This evolution and shift in thinking is not always easy; but it is essential if we're going to keep engaging the next generation! ?? ??https://lnkd.in/euRukQxv
