It's always a pleasure to work with MBTA and the personnel at the Cabot Vehicle Maintenance Facility on projects like this remanufactured Stanray TN-84C Underfloor Wheel Truing Machine. Boston-area rail transit commuters are in good hands!
Just like the tires on your car require servicing & replacement, so do the steel wheels of heavy rail vehicles, as seen here on one of MBTA's Red Line trains. This newly-refurbished wheel truing machine at Cabot Vehicle Maintenance Facility evens out flat spots and other imperfections in steel train wheels to ensure a safe and smooth ride for our customers. The Red Line Transformation Team in Integrated Transit Programs (formerly Capital Transformation) engaged our stakeholders throughout the process to deliver this important improvement to the maintenance facility, working closely with Walsh Michael, Jay Berry, Joseph Dulong, Bill Keating, & others. Special shout-out to Ray Wise who helped us with a complicated procurement process, as well as the Red Line Transformation Team (Director Ormand Adams, Senior Project Manager Charley Bokor, Senior Project Coordinator Randy Chu, & Resident Engineer Robert da Silva, EIT). I know we're all proud to deliver this project to our partners who maintain Red Line trains, and ultimately to our riders who deserve a safe and smooth system. Great work, Team!
