This month, Beacon Hill's San Francisco Tech team did ab "Adopt a Family" for their community service initiative. The "Adopt a Family" program is a charitable initiative typically run by community organizations, nonprofits, or social service agencies during the holiday season, especially in December. The goal is to provide holiday gifts, meals, and other essentials to families in need. #ExpertsAtWork #EmployingTheFuture #GoHire

?????? The Children's Advocacy Center provides vital support and resources to children and families who have experienced trauma or abuse. We believe that every child deserves love, care, and a chance to heal. And that's where YOU come in! ?? ???? We are seeking donations of new items that will bring joy and comfort to these young individuals. Here are some suggested items you can donate: 1?? Toys and Games: Help brighten their days with age-appropriate toys, stuffed animals, puzzles, board games, and art supplies. 2?? Books: Foster their love for reading by donating new or gently used books for all age groups. Inspire their imaginations and provide an escape into the world of storytelling. 3?? Clothing and Accessories: Children and teens often need new clothes due to growth or changes in their circumstances. You can contribute by donating new clothing, shoes, and accessories. 4?? School Supplies: Help them succeed academically by providing new school supplies, backpacks, notebooks, pens, pencils, and other essentials. 5?? Personal Care Items: Support their well-being by donating new toiletries, hygiene products, and personal care items such as toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, and soap. ???? Benefact Trust teams up with Christian funders to support charities this Christmas ? Benefact Trust has teamed up with members of the Christian Funders’ Forum to donate up to ￡196,740 to 59 charities in this year’s Big Give Christmas Challenge. Big Give’s Christmas Challenge, running from the 3rd to 10th December, is the UK’s biggest collaborative fundraising campaign. It connects charities to funders and the public to help address major social issues. As part of The Together Fund, we’re looking forward to giving a festive funding boost to small charities. “We’re proud to join with other Christian funders once again to support up to 59 inspiring charities through The Together Fund... Helping Families with School Uniforms ?? We teamed up with Frank Rogers Building Contractors charitable foundation and Cash for Kids to support 62 low-income families across our neighbourhoods with school uniforms. Together, we raised over ￡9,500, providing essential items like shirts, jumpers, skirts, trousers, and coats for 131 children aged 4 to 17. Families received approximately ￡50 per child, helping to ease the cost-of-living pressures. One parent shared: "With the support, I was able to buy uniforms and even save enough for groceries that week. It made a huge difference." This initiative highlights the power of partnership, showing how collaboration with contractors like Frank Rogers can deliver meaningful impact for local communities. #SocialValueWeek #CostOfLivingSupport #ThrivingCommunities #SVLG

For us to learn more and to be confident in any recommendations we make to policy makers and funders about funding flows for charities working with the criminal justice system, we need further data. Since kicking off the project in summer 2024, NPC (New Philanthropy Capital) have made good headway in exploring funding flows to criminal justice charities. ??This survey, which closes on 31 January, will help us understand how support this research, and get a better idea of funding for smaller charities, which we know less about.
