I LOVED Neapolitan ice cream as a kid! Strawberry! Vanilla! Chocolate! ??Yummy!!! I thought those were the ONLY flavors that existed... But one day, when I was older, I was introduced to NEW flavors. I visited a Marble Slab Creamery. Not only did I see strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate flavors... I saw a few different ones. Like… Birthday Cake, Butter Pecan, Mint Chocolate Chip, Bubblegum, Amaretto, Rum, Mango, Lemon Custard, Cool Mint, Key Lime, Raspberry, Vanilla Bean (not to be confused with regular vanilla)... Oh MY!!! Options, what a revolutionary concept!! It can be like that, at times, with your commercial insurance program. You’ve been with a broker / agent for a very long time... Sometimes all they know how to present to you are strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate insurance options. There’s nothing inherently wrong with those choices. However, your business has GROWN up... Good Afternoon LinkedIn Team; The Gallagher Atlanta Office has been partners with Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) for the last 12 years. Working with ACFB, helping them meet and exceed their mission, has been a very rewarding experience for our team. Over the next two weeks, 10/7 to 10/18, Gallagher Atlanta will be competing against other insurance industry groups in the Inaugural Insurance "Food Actually Campaign". This is a fundraising competition designed to help distribute food across a 29 county service area to families in need. The following are a few facts about ACFB: - The Food Bank was founded in 1979 in the basement of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Midtown Atlanta; - ACFB works with 700 community based partner agencies that distribute food directly to clients; - Their community-based distribution model helps ensure food assistance is available as close to the need as possible. The Food Bank’s size, experience, and reputation mean that small, local, and frequently volunteer-led, independent food pantries can have greater access to critical resources to help them fulfill their missions; - Each month the Food Bank distributes an average of 10 million pounds of food, or approximately 8.3 million meals; - During last fiscal year, ended June 30, 2024, the Food Bank distributed over 125 million pounds of food, the equivalent of approximately 105+ million meals; - In the 29 county service area, 1 in 8 Georgians live in a Food Insecure household, meaning they don’t always know where their next meal will come from. They also see that 1 in 6 children live in a food insecure household. The Goal of this Campaign is to Raise $50,000 to Provide 150,000 Meals Before the Holidays and Spread Awareness About the Issue of Food Insecurity in our Community. As someone passionate about food security, I was alarmed when a national leader in food rescue said to me, “If we pay farmers, they will expect to be paid.” ?????? This statement highlights a critical issue in food sustainability ——->>>> the donation-based model of the charitable food system. That's why I am teaming up with a Pennsylvania farmer to educate her colleagues on food equity for the farmer. Our workshop session title: “Food Dignity: Get Paid to Fight Hunger." It's crucial that we recognize the value of farmers' hard work and compensate them appropriately.
