As some of you may know, I serve on the Board of Directors at the Alta Heritage Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that recovers human cremains from catastrophic fire events. Cremains are the ashes of loved ones that are stored at home. We are deploying to the Southern California fires in two weeks. We are coordinating with CalOES and they are working with us to notify property owners of our services. The response here will be unprecedented and I need some help. We need four things: 1) Volunteers—specifically, those local to Southern California that can commute to help with the cremains recoveries; 2) Tyvek – we are going to need hundreds of Tyvek suits to supply both archaeologists and dog handlers; 3) Institutional support-- this could be GPS equipment, supplies, supporting staff financially to volunteer, food, and lodging; and 4) Financial support—we will need to pay for lodging, food, mileage, and equipment. We run entirely on donations, there’s no overhead or wages, 100% of all funds go directly into field support. Please help if you can, we’re going to have to move quickly. Environmental Center of San Diego: This study showcases how a small nonprofit leveraged Click & Pledge's seamless and effective donation forms to optimize their fundraising processes, allowing them to focus on their mission with minimal administrative overhead. Greater Farallones Association: This case study details how Greater Farallones Association used Click & Pledge and the Click & Pay Suite to organize data, engage the community, and generate significant support for ocean conservation efforts.

Living by the sea has been truly inspirational for me. Spending hours on the water rowing, sailing, and walking along the coastline has been a source of joy and motivation. Recently, starting the October Dip a day challenge has shed light on the state of our waters. It's clear that action is needed from all of us now more than ever. We all have the power to make a difference. Whether it's through donations, picking up and clearing away garbage, or being mindful of what we put down our drains, each small action contributes to a cleaner environment. Assembly Dems continue to take action to fight hunger & support local farms! A4971 would create a pilot program to support commercial farms donating fruits & veggies to NJ charities.
