Looking to make an impact? If your heart is leading you to give back This Giving Tuesday and beyond, we’re looking for 30 dedicated supporters to help create lasting change in the community. Curious about the impact you can make? Here are a few examples: ●?????Supporter ($25/month): Through our Supporter’s giving, we are able to provide commuter cards for an individual to use micro-transit to get to work for a week. ●?????Anchor ($50/month): Through our Anchor’s giving, we are able to provide an individual with one month of our coaching program, which empowers people to overcome obstacles and reach self-sufficiency. ●?????Beam ($100/month): Through our Beam’s giving, we are able to provide a week of groceries for a family of 4. ●?????Pier ($250/month): Through our Pier’s giving, we are able to provide emergency utility assistance to a family to keep their lights on. ●?????Foundation ($500/month): Through our Foundation supporter’s giving, we are able to?provide one week of transitional housing for a family in an extended stay to get back on their feet. #GivingTuesday #GivingTuesday2024 #touchinglives #improvinglife

A few sobering stats from the "Household Food Insecurity in Canada, 2022"? report: ? 22.9% of households in Newfoundland and Labrador experienced some degree of food insecurity in the previous 12 months, amounting to 116,000 people. ? This is the highest rate in any of the ten provinces in Canada. ? 28.8% of children under 18 in Newfoundland and Labrador lived in food-insecure households. Since 2022, NLCU has held its annual NLCU Fall Food Drive to help support individuals and families in Newfoundland and Labrador who experience food insecurity to get the nourishment they need.
