The Role of the Board During Leadership Transitions - by Valtas Group In too many cases, a nonprofit board’s approach to leadership turnover is hectic, not well thought out or planned, reactive instead of proactive. Most often, the board is group of passionate, well-meaning volunteers who are now faced with the single most important role they will have: selecting a new leader. How the board navigates the transition will directly impact the future and potential viability of the organization. https://hubs.ly/Q02dXxP60 #cfoselections

Closing a chapter on a leadership journey is never easy. It’s tough to step back after pouring so much passion, energy, and heart into something and to let others take the baton. Leadership isn’t just about the time spent or the goals achieved; it’s about the relationships built, the challenges faced, and the growth experienced along the way. While it’s hard to say goodbye to Engage Dallas, I’m grateful for every lesson learned and every person who has been part of this journey. Though this chapter is ending, the impact will continue to shape my path forward. Here’s to new beginnings and carrying the experiences with me into the next adventure. #Leadership #Community #EngageDallas #DallasTx #Leadership #Growth #NewBeginnings

Excited to lend my experience to the National Small Business Association and advocate for small businesses to our federal delegation, particularly around the rising cost of healthcare ?? Stomping Ground Strategies is proud to fully cover the cost of healthcare for our employees, but most small (and large) businesses don't. We spend roughly one-third of our lives at work (and another third thinking about work ?? ), and that takes a toll on everyone's mental and physical wellbeing. The LEAST employers can do is pay for healthcare. But make no mistake, it's expensive and most small businesses can't afford it. Small businesses make up 43.5% of the U.S.'s GDP. We're economic drivers, and as such, we should be able to support our workforce and their health, so they in turn can keep our economy healthy & strong.
Huge congratulations to our very own!! Isabelle Dienstag, partner and co-founder of?Stomping Ground Strategies?was named to the?National?Small?Business?Association?Leadership Council. We're so proud of you?Isabelle?and we're sure there's much more where this came from. Congratulations!

Director, Neighborhood Services and Economic Development, (CDBG and ARPA Neighborhood Opportunity Fund, and Neighborhood Beautification Program Funds
Leadership development, to be effective, must be deliberate and intentional. Last week the City of Detroit, Neighborhood Services Division and SP Grace met with over 20 awardees from Round 1 of the Neighborhood Opportunity (NOF) ARPA Grant to provide training on enhancing board engagement and community impact. Below is feedback from the training from a participant, Tamra and Asia, ? I wanted to THANK YOU for offering the excellent workshop with Dr. Carmen. Many of us small neighborhood non-profit groups give so much effort towards programs which benefit our neighborhoods, but do not take the time to work out the kinks (and sometimes the road blocks!)?in our boards and committees. Dr. Carmen was superb in giving us a framework to approach board members and help set a direction for smooth collaboration. The City of Detroit is proud to be partnering with SP Grace to provide training and technical assistance to the Round 1 Beneficiaries of the NOF ARPA grant. If you are looking to enhance and scale your existing programs? The City of Detroit, in partnership with SP Grace, invites all eligible small non-profits to apply for the NOF / ARPA Grants. This funding opportunity is designed specifically for small non-profits looking to empower their organization and deepen their impact in Detroit. Applications will be accepted from SEPTEMBER 16 - NOVEMBER 15, 2024. Don’t miss this chance to boost the effectiveness of your proven programs. We encourage early applications, as funds are available on a first-come, first-served basis. For program details and to apply, visit the City of Detroit’s NOF/ARPA Opportunity page online or SPGrace.com/NOF-ARPA #communityimpact #LeadershipDevelopment #Impact
A great day at our 'Strategic Leadership' workshop with nonprofit leaders in Detroit! Thanks to our partnership with the City of Detroit, we're empowering leaders to enhance board engagement and community impact. #LeadershipDevelopment #CommunityImpact
