A common problem multinational organisations have is a lack or inconsistency in the culture to build commercial capability, with no/low flow to continuous professional development. When rolling out competencies, start with a pilot. ?? Anytime you are about to change the process, in this case, start to use competencies and other related tools, it is always a good idea to start with a pilot. ?? Identify a group of users that can help you to determine if the process makes sense and if the tools are easy to use. This way you can work out all the kinks and apply some lessons learned as you move forward. For example, maybe during the pilot you learn that users need more training on how to assess competencies or how to identify learning goals tied to the competencies. You can pilot the process with: ? Employees with the greatest need (e.g.,?turnover, mission critical roles). ? Enthusiastic and eager employees who can?then become competency champions.
