After the last IxDA event, Fernanda Pino and I decided to team up for the November event. This time, we wanted to bring a more practical approach to designing solutions with AI. Let’s be realistic about the disadvantages of AI, while also exploring what principles we can apply (or even create) to make these solutions better. Coming timely with our input to the EU's Code of Practice, Claudio Novelli Luciano Floridi Giovanni Sartor issues a paper exploring AI legal personhood, inherently connected to the areas of liability and agency, courts and legal procedures functioning. It assesses near- and longterm prospects, from generative AI and AI agents in the next 5–20 years to AI integration with human cognition via BrainMachine Interfaces in a more distant future. What is fake? Regulations can guide us, but it is becoming clearer and clearer that AI literacy in society is crucial. The use of AI to enhance actors' accents in the film The Brutalist has made headlines and drawn considerable negatve backlash. Away from sensationalist takes and knee-jerk reactions, the response may be less about the use of AI and more about the transparency of where and how it is used.
