Here's a secret from a three-time Emmy-nominated legal storyteller ... Images of yourself or the main characters of your story as children are GOLD. The videographer you hired who shoots interviews with you in a conference room might not realize it. I'm Joe Douglass, founder of Clear Eyed Media. This is a photo of my dad and me. He's a big part of why I'm driven to achieve justice as an investigative reporter, legal storyteller, and videographer (I do that too). My dad died of cancer at 57. It was most likely caused by his exposure to Agent Orange during the Vietnam War, according to his doctors. I helped write the final appeal that got the VA to award my mom benefits after she fought for them for years. The push for justice drove my 16+-year career in TV news in top markets like Los Angeles and Portland, Oregon. Images like the one below help viewers become invested in a story because they appeal to our emotions. And they make viewers identify with the character more deeply because we all started as kids. This is one of many reasons insurance adjusters wish the videos I make, including settlement documentaries and day-in-the-life videos, didn't exist. Be reasonable and communicate clearly. What this means: Role Requirements: Clearly communicate the physical and emotional demands of the role. Scheduling: Be mindful of the actor's other commitments and avoid scheduling conflicts. Compensation: Offer fair compensation for the actor's time and talent. Working Conditions: Provide a safe and supportive working environment. Communication: Maintain open and honest communication with the actor. American Airlines Group is looking for a new chief legal officer to replace Priya Aiyar, who will depart the Fort Worth, Texas-based carrier next month to become Warner Bros. Discovery's new legal chief. Aiyar joined American in 2019 as senior vice president and general counsel and was promoted in 2022 to executive vice president of corporate affairs and chief legal officer. Discovery Inc. CEO David Zaslav?in a statement?touted Aiyar's deep experience.
